2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's pretty boring because most people who attend are way older than recent high school grads or have children. Honestly I can't wait to transfer in the fall so I can have more fun and experiences.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love the atmosphere, here. The student life on campus is like being with family. I love the closeness as we help each other to succeed. It's not competitive in a bad way. The professors are great and professional. They will do what they can to help you. I really enjoy this school and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great school.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Of course is hard, but doable, and well worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Close to home, small, and feels safe.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I have not transferred yet so I honestly do not have an answer.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: I never had online classes, the work load on campus was average but not over bearing.

5 College Junior

Career Services: It's ranked the best nursing program, but I would not know personally because I am just getting my associates.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I loved all of my professors, I got to experience new things like feeding a sea anemone which was extremely interesting!

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The campus is always hiring and is college friendly, you basically get paid to study!

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have learned a lot from this school, my favorite thing is that some classes do not take multiple chose questions like a typical class would, because of this they made learning fun and actually most of the information that I gained is still memorized.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I haven't had an issue with the school. Most of the teachers are friendly and very dedicated to their students. If they see you struggling they will help out as much as possible.

Career Services: Our Career Services Center goes to great lengths to help with job placement. They help create outstanding resumes, give informative feedback on mock interviews, and have an online job board. Once you are a student at ACC, you are always welcome to come back for the services. The Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society has inters hip programs local and abroad.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I'm getting my Associates Degree in Business Administration. I have ejoyed every minute of it. I was given a unique opportunity to learn being an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Technical Programs at ACC. She was new and I was able to help her navigate the campus and faculty. I am also in a Co-op class and get to work as a student worker administrative assistant in the Mental Health department. The school is clean and kept up well. There is a lot of homework but I am learning alot.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I am a student worker, my superior was extremely flexible. She worked with me and always made sure I had time for homework and studying. Her concern was my success. My professors surveyed their students to know what classes to schedule for summer. If that's not accommodating I don't know what is. The only frustration I have had is with Financial Aid and being able to contact them. The official form of communication at ACC is email. I would prefer to be able to speak to someone if I had a problem or question.

Online Courses: ACC''s online classes are completed through a program called Blackboard. It is simple to navigate and has few issues. The teachers always stay connected with the students. Student get to interact with each other through wikis, blogs, discussion boards and messaging. A student is always welcome to call or come into the college for help. You can always use the computers in the many labs the college has available. The registration is an easy step by step processed. Labeling and directions are clear. Any problems and you can call, email or go up to the campus.

Overall Experience: All of the professors and faculty at ACC go out of their way to help each student. I feel I learn more with the small student to teacher ratio classes offered. They also have a wide variety of degree plans and certifercates. It is a great college to start at if you want to transfer to a four year college. They rotate classes so that the class is offered at least once a year. They have online and night classes too. Teachers are flexible and accommodating. The professors I have had use several different teaching styles. They also keep up with technology and are knowledgeable about the courses they teach. I was out of school for 16 years and concerned about returning, the worry was for nothing. The remedial Algebra class had me caught up quick. I was also recently certified to be a Microsoft Office Specialist which was included in the Word Processing class. I feel comfortable at ACC and enjoy going to school. The faculty and student body make things happen.

Overall Experience: Career services is great! They help with resumes, mock job interviews and online job searches. Personnel are exreamly helpful. The professors in each department personally help with job searches, portfolios, and professional appearances. There is even a careers class that teaches you all the steps of how to start a career in today's technology. I finished the class with many networking contacts, a paper and electronic resume, a better understanding of what I really wanted to pursue, career wise, as so much more. ACC and it's faculty go to great lengths to help each student. I can't say enough about my life changing experience at Alvin Community College.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I had to retake a class or two based on a misunderstanding of what specific courses I was going to need for my degree. Also, I am not eligible for any financial aid because I have too many credits, which could have been avoided had I not had to take classes over, classes I didn't need,

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I took many online courses at Alvin and can say with absolute assurance, that they were amazing. I actually took some at UTSA too, and they were extremely disappointing in comparison. At Alvin, they had an excellent level of organization to their online courses which made it simple for even the most tech illiterate .

4 College Junior

Career Services: When I transferred from ACC to UTSA back in 2011, most of my classes transferred without any issues. The only downside was that I had to retake statistics, because while I had taken it at ACC, UTSA required a specific biology based one that was not the same as Alvins.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am going back mainly to further my career in medicine. I have a goal of working along side health professionals as an allied nurse, helping others heal physically and emotionally from lives many traumas. From what I understand their program is wonderful and will make my resume shine once I apply as an RN. This makes me value this program and deem it of high quality.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My professors were across the board very well rounded in their knowledge on the subject of which they taught. They knew everyone's names, which means more than can be described in mastering the role of student. I also can say most of my teachers were personable and withheld an impressive sense of humor which is fantastic.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I enjoyed the teachers a lot, especially my biology professor. He was so friendly and he had a great sense of humor. The labs were also exceptionally designed and I felt like it truly enhanced my in class learning. I loved that the classes were small, it made me feel more like an individual than a number.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I attended here fresh out of high school and got my associate degree in science. The teachers were excellent, prices were affordable, and the atmosphere was very encouraging. I have since decided to return to get an RN license through ACC and am very excited. I have heard their program is great and cannot wait to experience it.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Alvin Community College is a great school. The professors work with you at any time. One of my expierences was always speak be known that you have a voice. When you speak theres always people that will help you here!
