Off-Campus Dining

{{ error }}
1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Yes, Alverno is located in Milwaukee but we are in the part that there is nothing cool or good to unless you want to eat and Panda Express and BW3s.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I mean you drive one mile from campus and you are near Miller Park. Target, grocery stores, Wendy's, Qdoba plus a to fo other places. Everything is right there for food.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I do not eat off campus because I live on my own.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is really anything. It is about a 30 min walk, most students do not have cars. Or you can have delivery but not many places do that.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Campus is located in a very populated area of the city so there are lots of fast food options, several pubs, and a handful of sit down restaurants

Milwaukee has an array of restaurants, and if there is something you are craving, you will find it. Because Milwaukee is a dairy state, there are lots of custard or ice cream shops. Milwaukee also has its share of classic American food, like hamburgers, steaks, and fries. However, there are all kinds of ethnic restaurants ranging from Indian to Mexican to Thai. Wherever you are in Milwaukee, you will find a great place to eat, and sometimes the best places to eat at are small hole-in-the-wall spots. Milwaukee, like every other city in the United States, has its share of fast food restaurants and chain restaurants.

Alverno students eat a lot on 27th Street because it is so close to campus, and the food is relatively cheap and easy to grab between classes or with friends on weekends. A lot of students eat off campus to either supplement their meal plans or just to get something out of the norm. However, there are also expensive, top-of-the-line restaurants for a special night out, as well. There is a good mix of foods, restaurants, and price ranges all over the city. If you want it, it is somewhere out there.

Did You Know?
  • Wisconsin is known as the "Cheese State," and the majority of foods at restaurants in Milwaukee have cheese in them or give you the option of adding cheese.
  • Milwaukee is also known for its beer, so there are specialty foods that are either beer-battered or baked in beer. There are plenty of restaurants/breweries around Milwaukee. A lot of Milwaukee's history is based on the Pabst, Blatz, and Miller breweries.
