Guys & Girls: Alverno is an all girls school, so technically there is no way for me to compare girls and guys in school. I personally think that the girls in school may be in the middle, some are really nice and say hi! down the hall. Others really do not care an just go about with there regular days. Over all I think that the girls at Alverno are okay, they try there best and mostly they are more focused in getting all their work done so that they can graduate in time.

Campus Food: There are so many different food options at Alverno and many places to eat. The cooked meals are like mom's and the grilled options are excellent. There are also many options for health-conscious people and vegetarians.

Local Area: Cultural Mecca – Alverno atmosphere includes lots of on campus activities from sports, art, theater & dance to lots of volunteer activities. Close enough to shopping and within miles of shopping centers, fitness locations (including on campus) and a short bus ride from Milwaukee's downtown area and lakefront. Summer is filled with various charity walks, educational seminars and cultural festivals, including SummerFest - the largest concert series nationwide.

Greek Life: Im not into the Greek life here. We don't have much of a variety with the greek life. If we had sorirty's that I was interested in here, I would pledge

Weather: Here in Wisconsin, we have a lot of snow during the winter. Alverno is pretty good letting students know when classes cancel ahead a time thru via text message and via email. When it rains, sometimes i have a difficult time finding a parking spot closer to the building where i have class so i wont get wet.

Campus Housing: I dont live in the dorms, but the people who i know live in dorms dont complain about them. I hear the upperclassmen dorms are better equipped and much more classier, than the freshmen and sophmore. The only thing they mostly complain about is the price of living on campus.

Campus Food: Dining in at Alverno is way more expensive than eating out in a fast food restaurant. Menus have a variety, but the more healthier the options are,the more expensive the food gets.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Student Discounts – Around the Alverno campus there are many dining options. At these dining spots students who attend Alverno receive a 10% discount for all purchases. This very convenient for students who do not live on campus.

Academics: There are many psychology majors at Alverno. The upperclassmen who major in psychology help to lead and guide me in the areas of class choices and credits. My major is greatly supported by my advisor as well. My advisor has my necessary classes mapped out and helps me to make the right class choices.

Diversity: Transfer Students – There are many transfer students on campus at Alverno College. These students stay in the dorms and interact well with the other students. On the transfer students arrival day they are welcomed and their names are on display on a bulletin board. We welcome the transfer students and treat them like we would anyone else.

Athletics: Fan Support – At Alverno College the fan support of our athletics is very vibrant. Not only do the students support the athletics but so does the faculty and staff. At many of the games and athletic events students and staff cheer on the athletes. I enjoy the athletics events because of the fan support.

Campus Housing: Dorms and Social Atmosphere – The dorms at Alverno College are very convenient. They are located at a very reasonable distance from the main buildings. I enjoy living on campus because of these conveniences and because of the social atmosphere. I have met many people from studying in the lobbies of the dorms and also in the coffeehouse. The social atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming for everyone.

Academics: At Alverno College we do not utilize a grading scale or system. We do not receive grades but simply pass or fail. After each paper we write and after each assessment we have to self evaluate our work. During the self assessments our strengths and weaknesses displayed in our work is to be clearly identified and stated why it is a strength or weakness. I personally like the self assessment process with no grading scale because it allows me to know what areas improvements are needed.

Weather: Living in Wisconsin, the weather is awful during the winter. It is hard to get anywhere in this city when it has been snowing the way that it does here most years. Alverno is very good with plowing the parking lots, the area streets, and the sidewalks so snow has never been much of a problem when it comes so getting to class easily and on time.

Diversity: I love my school because there are so many different kinds of people. We have a lot of people studying at my school who come from other areas in the world and these do not include those who are studying abroad at Alverno. Everyone feels welcome because no one stands out as being different from everyone else; this is because everyone is different from their peers. I love it.

Off-Campus Dining: Chilli's, Culvers, Noodles, Leons, Einstein Bagels, taco bell, McDonalds, Subway, IHOP. There are foods from all different parts of the world and I have options if Im spending 3 dollars or 35. Its a little farther than walking distance but it is well worth the short drive.

Technology: It's Better to Have Your Own – Even though there are computer labs available for the students they do seem to get very crowded aroung finals, midterms, and the lunch hour. However if you do have your own personal computer there are many places to pick up wifi on campus.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: It's Ok – I have made it my personal business to complete my FAFSA before the deadline so that I may qualify for all that is available to me. A lot od documents are online so I suggest keeping up with deadlines and talking with a financial aid advisor if you ever have questions

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: None Seen – Alverno is a small private college with a lot of non-traditional students. If drinking or smoking occurs it is somewhere far away from campus

3 College Senior

Local Area: the atmosphere around the school is pretty much residential with a strip mall as well as resturants down the street

3 College Sophomore

Technology: The computer labs are always packed from 11:30 till about 1:10, so good luck trying to find one. You only get 400 pages to print each semester. It may sound like a lot, but it is not and they go by fast.
