There are plenty of places around campus for you to park your car—if you don't mind getting a ticket. There are lots next to most dorms, but there's simply not enough space on campus to match the amount of parking permits they sell each year. Students parked in faculty lots are frequently ticketed. Even worse is when there's snow on the ground or construction blocking the lots. The bottom line: don't bring a car to Allegheny and get used to walking or biking.
The main reasons why students drive to class are because they wake up late or they don't want to walk in the cold. The campus is small compared to big universities, and you can walk from one end to the complete opposite end in 10 minutes. There isn’t much parking around the academic buildings themselves, and the spaces that do exist are generally reserved for faculty. Most people at Allegheny use their cars to go to Wal-Mart or Erie, but not on an everyday basis to get around campus.
