Off-Campus Dining

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The convenience store is costly, but the Jet and Panda are relatively cheap, and Terracotta's great.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Personally I think it's just enough. There is Japanese, Chinese, a diner, Italian, a coffee shop, and a more formal restaurant. The Japanese restaurant has a meal plan you can purchase yourself. Prices are nice and low and very convenient because there is only one street running through school, and it's right there. Nana's is the definitely the place to go!

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: From the pizza places to the sushi bars, it's great for diversity.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Although a small town, there are still quite a few options: Pizza, sandwiches, subs, coffee shop, Chinese, Japanese, Cafe, restaurant, gas station mart, etc

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Some places are good and unique but a little costlier. Some are just there for the poor college kid, for example the cardboard pizza shop. I guess for such a small town the amount of places to eat is pretty high and the food is pretty good. It is such a small town though and although it can be good to know everyone when you go out to eat and relax that sometimes it would be great to be anonymous.

When students first visit campus, they can literally blink and miss the town of Alfred. However, dining options are surprisingly varied. The Collegiate Restaurant ("the Jet" for short) is only open until 8 p.m., but feels like an all-night diner.

Nana's Japanese Café serves Japanese delights for an American palette. They serve a different bento lunch for every day of the week. Café Za offers the taste of expensive New York dining for a fraction of the cost, and it serves personal pan pizzas until midnight. Since there's not much else to do in Alfred, students take a great deal of time and pleasure in eating.
