3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Unfortunately I live an hour away from the campus so sometimes it's not very convenient for me. Other times I've found that the classes can be spread out pretty far away from one another.

Overall Experience: My major offers a summer internship, they also offers groups to help with future career prospects after college.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: The only way that online courses differ with traditional classrooms would be the drive. Most people who take online classes will need to be more personally responsible for finishing things on time.

4 College Junior

Student Body: There are all types of different backgrounds of people that go to my school.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I don't know that much about the post-grad services offered at my school but most people who go to my school and transfer to a higher education seem to be happy.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: There isn't a whole lot of people in my specific program so it's nice to be close to a small group of people. The advisors act like my friends too and are interested in my well-being and also my advancement in the business world.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The most associated program with my school would easily be the law enforcement program. The professors are very nice, the curriculum can be hard or easy depending on the class. Class registration process is easy. There are study groups offered and help if you need it.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is a gym that's available for working out, there is a huge library, many study areas, there is always some kind of campus activity happening.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that the programs they have available are good and the process of financial aid is pretty simple.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid department at Alexandria Technical & Community College is very helpful at answering questions.

3 College Freshman

Career Services: I have only heard that Alexandria Technical & Community College had good job placement, I have not gotten that far into my school career there.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The instructors are nice and they never give too much homework, just enough for what they are teaching so the students can grasp the point of what's being taught.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: At Alexandria Technical & Community College, there are many programs offered, and the instructors do a very good job to help students learn, and the instructors have a large amount of background/ knowledge of what they teach.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love ATCC. There's a reason I went back for second degree from them.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I know that business look for graduates of ATCC because they are so awesome.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have never doubted that I'm getting the most bang for my buck at ATCC. The course quality in excellent. They teach things that are actually used out in industry without all the fluff!

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have quite a few credits taken care of when I started of the Accounting program. Therefore my workload has been reasonable and I've been able to work at the same time. Both instructors know their students on a personal level and care about the activities outside of class. They encourage students to do well and offer help and time for those that need extra assistance on the material. Jobs in our industry our presented to us while still in school so that we may get a start on our career early.

Tuition & Financial Aid: All institutions of higher learning are expensive. The two-year option at ATCC offers a lower-cost tuition while you work on a higher degree or while you're just figuring out what you want to do. There were no hidden fees that you wouldn't expect at any other school (i.e. technology fee, parking, health services, etc.)

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I loved taking online courses! I was able to take both of my Accounting Principle courses online at the same time so I could easily continue to work at the same time and complete the coursework on my schedule. The deadlines for tests and homework were easy to meet. The D2L system offered a simple way to log on and follow the curriculum schedule so that the material made sense and I was ready for the tests when they came around. The instructors used a variety of lecture techniques (interactive Soft Chalk, video, and integrating Excel) to make it similar to how it would feel in a classroom setting. I also enjoyed using the discussion boards to ask for help from other students and the instructor.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I know that these services exist at my school and for that reason alone, they deserve a good rating. I, however, have not used those services enough to be able to review them.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I had transfer credits from another school as well as a previous degree that I earned at ATCC. I've never had any issues with having those credits count toward my new degree. I also work Monday-Thursday 8:00-4:00. The class schedule is easy to work with and instructors are very understanding if work gets in the way as long as you are up front with them and show you're making an effort to complete the course and do well.

Campus Resources: Our library is a nice, quiet place to study complete with online and book resources. The library staff are helpful and friendly. We have plenty of clubs and activities to keep students busy and expand their interests. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I love that we have a gym and cardio room that is free for all students to use.
