The main deterrent to prospective students may be the size and state of the town of Albion. There's not much to look at as the downtown area is pretty much limited to one street. Jackson, Marshall, and Battle Creek are more popular places to go. Perhaps it says something about the local atmosphere when students will drive a half-hour away to find something interesting to do.
However, once you've been at Albion for a while, you will start to see its charm. The town itself has a lot of surprising history behind it and a lot of interesting characters within it. It can be a little creepy at night, but so are most cities. Also, there's no doubt that a lot of good friendships are made through the common boredom of living in Albion. Sometimes making your own fun is a lot more memorable than living in a big city.
