Albany State University has a great undergraduate music program. It teaches you all you need to know to pursue a carreer in music. You will get a great foundation in Music Theory, Music History, and Performance Art. The faculty is superb, and are leading researchers and performers. The faculty are very helpful, and will do whatever to help you succeed. We have one of the best music education programs in the state. There are several ensembles that you can take part in including: Concert Chorale, Symphonic Band, Chamber Singers, Marching Band, Concert Band, Saxophone Quartet, Brass Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, Percussion Enselmble, and more. Our Lyceum Series is one of the best. Each year we host performers from all of the country like: Cantus, Imani Winds, Harlem Quartet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Frank Sinatra Jr., and more. ASU is the place to be!

I am a Junior Biology major here at Albany State University and I would have to say that the academics is okay. Really not that hard if you aren't majoring in a science such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, or nursing. Now those classes are hard. If you aren't willing to put in the time or effort then don't major in any of the sciences because it's time consuming. The other irrelevant classes towards my major such as English, Math, History, Etc; they're easy as can be! Good Luck!

Many of my peers that graduated from my program are close friends of mine. Between these students and professors I feel well equipped to handle any and everything in my future career. Any Alumni that I meet from here has always embraced me with a warm greeting and extended a helping hand in any endeavor that I wanted to pursue. Career services, though underrated, is a fantastic aid to use!
