Health & Safety: Health and safety here on campus is very essential to student life. The on-campus police not only help me feel safe and secure but have somewhat changed my perspective on law enforcement as a whole. I once had a friend that was missing and had passed away and the ASUPD helped me and my friends out so much and did everything within their power to aid and console us. I am forever grateful to them for that. So besides the "ticket man" I have no problems with these fine men and women and respect them for what they do.

Overall Experience: Many of my peers that graduated from my program are close friends of mine. Between these students and professors I feel well equipped to handle any and everything in my future career. Any Alumni that I meet from here has always embraced me with a warm greeting and extended a helping hand in any endeavor that I wanted to pursue. Career services, though underrated, is a fantastic aid to use!

Campus Housing: Housing and Residence is life it seems is going through a transitional period that is completely understandable. I used to work for housing and in my experience I learned that housing is not simply providing lodging. Housing provides quality programming, safety, and for some mentorship plus so much more. The housing staff is some of the most frequently seen by the student body because they live here. When students leave class, campus events, parties, hometowns, parents and they come to these dorms and need a home away from home. Though room for improvement is still there, housing here at Albany State gave me a home before I left campus. I advice students to stay on campus as long as they can because it is an experience that you will never forget.

Greek Life: Being a part of the Greek Life here on campus I feel that Greek life has slowly diminished in value. The sole purpose behind most Divine nine organizations is being of shadowed by the stereotypes and socialized concepts that has been fed or embedded into campus life as a whole. When I joined my fraternity I had burning passion to serve not only the university that housed me but the community that surrounded me. The trivial disagreements between fraters and Soros of different and sometimes the organizations are at an all time high and they must end in order to ensure productivity. A revival or reminder is called for in order to readjust the vision of the members of these organizations. We are more than social entities with elitist complexes, we are the future leaders of our community and we have to regain sight of that again. The front runners for pivotal moments in our history (Civil Rights Movement, Harlem Renaissance, etc.) for the most part were members of these prestigious organizations. They are no different from us besides the conscious decision to make a difference and to stand boldly in that decision.

Athletics: Athletics here at Albany State University is quite excited. Honestly one of things that attracted me to this institution was the Marching Rams Show Band. I had never seen such passion, and talent gathered in a concentrated area rendering soul stirring music in an arena before. I attended the fountain city classic and was amazed by not only the band but the entire setting of school spirit, pride, athleticism, fun, and family. I felt as if I was attending a family reunion that I had missed for the past decade or so. Sporting events on any HBCU campus I feel is more than just a game. It is a gathering of like-minded, intelligent, passionate people displaying a unmeasured amount of pride in their school, or more so their family. I have never left a sporting event disappointed even when we lost. I felt secure in the fact that I was there to support my fellow Ram brothers and sisters.
