3 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics are different than most schools. The only varsity sports team we have is the Cross Country Skiing team but they are very good but they are not watched as sporting events. Instead the school specializes in outdoor activities and has a great facility to rent gear to its students so they can do anything to white water rafting to ice climbing to scuba diving.

3 College Junior

Athletics: It's a GREAT school, if you are into cross-country skiing.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: I am not into sports! My first sight of the sport center is that they over charge for everything!

4 College Senior

Athletics: Skiing is huge here. There is equipment available for rent cheaply for students. I love seeing everyone gathering together to go out skiing after a really good snow. UAA is right next door and they have basketball and hockey games for anyone who likes to watch.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We don't have any intercollegiate teams, but there are some great sports here for students to get involved with. APU has kayak polo once a week, a bouldering (rock climbing) wall in the basement, and a Nordic ski team that sends athletes to the Olympics. We also enjoy a large variety of sports clubs that welcome all comers, such as soccer, basketball, a Nordic ski club, frisbee/disc golf (with our own on-campus course) and a number of others. This is also the place to be if you are into outdoor sports. There are tons of opportunities for rock climbing, mountaineering, paddling, technical ice climbing, glacier travel, and just about any other outdoor sport you can think of, most within an hour drive or less.
