4 College Freshman

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: Professors Are Friendly – The professors are actually rather friendly. They are here to help and they deliver.

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: Fun Classes – Im a criminal justice major and my classes are fun and easy. The teachers here know how to teach while being able to make us pay attention. The work for criminal justice is interesting and not overwhelming.

Off-Campus Housing at St. Philip's College: Housing directly off campus is not somewhere I would like to live. The campus itself is located in downtown San Antonio on the east side. Teachers themselves have been known to get mugged early in the morning or late at night.

Scholarships at St. Philip's College: I have been in the school system for about two years and I would have to stress the fact that timing on paper work and the art of the follow-up is essential to getting your financial aid on time and without complications. The staff usually has no idea what is going on, so my best advice is to try to do everything from an online standpoint and only come in to the offices when paperwork needs to be filled. Every time you address the financial aid office do not forget to include your banner id and which school you are enrolled at. If these steps are not complete then your email will not be answered. Also the turn around time for an email is about two days, so the follow up is very crucial.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources at San Antonio College: Having a teacher show you step by step but forgetting one little step

Career Services at San Antonio College: After I graduated, I had trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally, I went to the Career Center for help, as it should still be an asset to me post-graduation. I was quite releved after they fixed my issues and concerns.

Academic Experience at Northwest Vista College: I feel that I have learned, and am still learning very important things in my classes.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility at Northwest Vista College: they are so many different options at northwest vista. so much that i couldnt deside what i wanted to take because they offered so much. if they added a sign lanuage program i would be even more excited because in other community colleges they dont have too many options that i like but here i was amazed.

Overall Experience at Northwest Vista College: Very Satisfied – i do not want to go to another campus because this school is the best community college i have every been too. other colleges dont teach very well, get frustrated with the students, or expect you to get what you need to learn yourself.one teacher even told me he dont care because he's getting a pay check anyways.here they are so many people willing to go the extra mile for you its a great enviroment with fantastic teachers.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Northwest Vista College: Needs a Little Inprovement – this is the only bad thing about this school is that so many students are here so it takes forever to get financial aid infomation and also plus people wait til the last minute to do it. they can improve it by having more people on staff to help with financial aid, other than that they will need no improvement

Career Services at Northwest Vista College: Career Center Very Helpful – i am only a freshman in college but already the staff is making sure i know what i am going to do after i leave the college. They are very nice and ask you real deep questions so they can help you with whatever you need. i would highly reccomend this college to anybody i know because i have been to other colleges and they dont even compare.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: Classes Are Very Engaging – The classes is where everything happens the teacher are always keeping the student involved making sure we all Pass by making sure we Know the material for the upcoming test. by giving us manageable but quality work

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: Professors Are Outstanding – I love how the professors are always there to help no matter the situation, through a simple knock on the door to a email or a text message the professors seem to always be there for the betterment of the students!

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience at Palo Alto College: I rate the campus and academics as a B- due to the academic drawbacks and campus construction. I do not feel more prepared for University based on my time at Palo Alto, but I do feel more knowledgeable of the world for having spent so much time there.

Online Courses at Palo Alto College: I took Biology online at Palo Alto and did quite well. I appreciated the time that I had to work on projects at home as well as the type of projects that were provided to allow a great learning experience. We had plenty of photographs supplied by the professor throughout the semester, so we had a great concept of what a 'hands on' lab would be,as if we were in the classroom. The final exam was an essay for this class, my topic was on Prenatal surgery of fetuses. This was a very difficult topic to research as it is a very new type of medicine. I relished the opportunity to research the topic online, at the library, and the local bookstore. I made an A!

Campus Resources at San Antonio College: Not Enough Books. Resources in this campus are very LIMITED. In my biology class, everyone had to share the instruments/materials/etc. This school is very old, they still have some things from back in the 70's. They need to update stuff. Some classes have computers, most don't. In their libraries, the maximum of textbooks they have are 2. So only two people can use them for two hours. So it is a must to purchase your textbooks if your going to attend this school.

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: Too Passionate/Always Changing – Most professors are passionate of what they do...sometimes a little too passionate, thinking that their subject is your major (but its not!). If you don't like change, I don't recommend this school. They're forever changing the school programs, buildings, and regulations.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: You Must Have Patience to Attend This School! Advisors, financial aid assistance, and professors take forever to help you with a situation. The bursars office staff and financial aid staff are at times rude. You need a whole lot of patience with this school, if you don't have it, then you won't get no where.

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: Movin' on up – I was out of school for about 6yrs and now I am going back to better my future. I haven't had any problems yet, but this is only the first week of school. I am having to retake some algebra, because I suck at math. I am taking Arabic though. I love learning new languages. I am also taking a writing class, no more of those "where r u" or "ur the 1 I wnt." So I actually have to start writing and typing like I give a damn. Well, I hope this year I can bring up my gpa. I want to transfer to so I can get a better degree.

2 College Junior

Local Area at St. Philip's College: Not Very Nice Looking – The area around the college isn't very nice looking. But there is a YMCA right up the road and lots of fast food places if you are hungry. Easy access to downtown and the Riverwalk Mall.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety at St. Philip's College: Feel Safe – You won't feel unsafe here. There are always people around that are willing to walk a girl to her car if need be. I don't have to look far to see campus security and know that if I yell for them, they will come running.

3 College Junior

Weather at St. Philip's College: Hot but the Rooms Are Cool – They have the AC on to help you cool down after walking in the Texas heat. Makes for a nice day all in all.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources at Northwest Vista College: Could Be Better – If you're on your own computer, you will run into the problem of not connecting to their wireless network myriad times. If you are connected, it runs at a pretty decent speed. You must pay to print on campus, as far as I know of. Finding a computer is a problem during the week, as there are a ton of students looking to use them.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility at Northwest Vista College: I've had a few problems with instructors not knowing their material as well as you would expect, but for the most part my experience has been positive.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body at Northwest Vista College: I can't say much, as I have little interaction with most of the student body. Most seem to be working while attending school. I don't see a lot of students hanging out there either.
