Career Services at Palo Alto College: There are a lot of programs that come to the school and answer the student's questions .

Overall Experience at Palo Alto College: There would be times when I just do not understand a certain topic and the professor would be able to explain to me in a clearer light so that I can understand.

Academic Experience at Palo Alto College: The professors really care if the student understands and if the student does not understand they will find where the student doesn't understand and think of a new way to explain the topic.

Overall Experience at Palo Alto College: Before I started my college career I wanted to go straight to a university but I then realized how expensive it is so I switched to Palo Alto College and I really feel that the staff really care about the students attending.

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: I got the chance to work in the writing center as a English/writing tutor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They did not offer many internship opportunities, but I believe that they do help you find them. Another cool thing about my program is that in my creative writing class the professor actually put on Christmas ball for us to do our poetry reading at. It was such an incredible learning experience, and a lot of fun. The workload and curriculum was very writing intensive, but as an English major, I need that. Definitely recommended.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: What makes SAC unique is that they have multiple campuses that offer the same classes and accreditation. It is very affordable and students get what they pay for -- a great education at a great price. But unfortunately, that also means the administrative offices are lacking. My favorite experiences are from working and learning within the English department, because that was my major and the most interesting to me. I would definitely recommend it, and do again myself. I have grown academically, professionally, and personally.

Academic Flexibility at San Antonio College: I didn't have too much difficulty with my schedule, because I worked for the college as well. However, some of the higher level classes did not have enough sections because of lower attendance. And one semester, two of my classes were canceled last minute because of not enough students enrolled in course. Fortunately, I was able to get into a couple others I needed. I haven't transferred any credits yet, but they appear to be widely accepted.

Online Courses at San Antonio College: I took a few online courses and was very pleased with the convenience and flexibility of them. Depending on which class depends on the workload, because some of them had way too much and some of them were perfect. Most of the professors were very available and answered emails immediately, but others took forever and the grading took even longer. The peer-to-peer interaction was there, even if forced, but always felt awkward, for example in discussion boards or group projects.

Career Services at San Antonio College: The career center, alumni network, and job prospects are almost non existent. The push to move forward and in the correct direction comes from the professors themselves. As stated before, the college has had massive budget cuts and it seems like anyone that works in any administrative or student services is underpaid, overloaded and not interested. I would suggest getting to the those that work within your major's department, because they will be the only helpful ones to you.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: Initially, I was nervous about a community college education. I thought the professors would not be very effective, but I was more than wrong. The professors I had were wonderful, especially in the English department. With small classes and approachable professors, learning is made easy. The variety of English courses was nice too; they ranged from American and British Literature to Creative and Technical Writing -- I learned a lot from all of them.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: A degree from SAC is helpful, as they only offer associate degrees, because then you can transfer to a four year university and your core work is complete at a cheaper price. You also can work for the college while you are at the four year university and network in your field. Honestly, there is not much recruiting on campus and career services are lacking. And it does not seem like there is much of a presence of alumni.

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: My major is English, so the workload is pretty writing intensive, which fortunately I like. Another positive is the job opportunities within the department; I got a job in the writing center as a tutor, which was helpful to me and others. The curriculum was okay, could have been better, because of budget cuts, classes are getting dropped all the time. Facilities all differed depending on which building you were in -- some newer or cleaner than others.

Career Services at San Antonio College: I remember I would always see tables set up with a university talking to students. They would have brochures and be friendly to us. The career center is very helpful. If you want information about universities or jobs you could go to the career center. They usually have everything you need. You could also go and talk to an adviser. They help with your hours, picking a school that's right for you, and jobs.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: My class sizes were good, the most I would have about 15 students by mid semester. I like having smaller classes because that's a better environment for me personally. All of my professors I've had have been helpful and really caring. I've never had a problem with any of them. I've liked all of my courses so far. My professors have made the courses understandable and as easy as they wish.

Overall Experience at San Antonio College: The application process took a while but what application process doesn't. It's important to make sure you get everything done early. Make sure you have everything you need. Also make sure to look at what system the school goes by to know what you need to do your best on. My school had helpful and very nice/caring people to help me through the process and explain anything I needed.

Academic Experience at San Antonio College: The core classes I've taken to get into the program have been great, even if I haven't gotten in yet. I know that the school that has the program I'm interested in is a well known school. Many people have successfully graduated from this school. My core courses to get into the program are great. I've learned a lot from each class. I know I can use what I've learned in the program and in everyday life.

Academic Flexibility at San Antonio College: As a single parent, I've had to reshuffle my schedule to meet school hours, course work, studying and working a full time job. Its been extremely hard and frustrating for taking 5 courses in one semester. Did lose a lot of quality time with my family.
