I would not choose another HBCU even if I had the chance to. Alabama State University has taught me so much about myself, as well as the Alabama itself. There are so many opportunities at my HBCU that you would have no choice but to be engaged with the student body. You meet people from all over the world and the education is just wonderful! Not only do the professors teach, but their passionate about it and you learn about life situations as well. I will never forget my experience at Alabama State University, and I will forever be grateful for the friends, professors, and knowledge that I have gained.

The "Cafe&quot – Besides The Sportspage, which is a mini restaurant on campus and the hole in the wall, the cafe is the only place where most students can grab some grub. The cafe food is edible, but i will say that they offer us a variety of foods to choose from including a salad bar, pizza stand, deli bar, dessert table, etc. There are a couple cons about the cafe. First, the operating hours. The cafe opens up Mon-Fri from 6:30 am - 6:30 pm. Most people who are always busy dont always have time to visit the cafe when they are open & what about the people who are used to eating dinner at night? Them & everyone else who missed the cafe hours are sorry out of luck! Next, is the cafe always serves fatty/greasy foods! We dont have a nutritional menu, so i have no idea how many calories im consuming & thats. The sportspage also closes randomly early, so you never know when they decide to close for the day. All students who reside on campus automatically receive a meal card which is used for three meals a day, seven days a week. Just know you will never miss a meal at Alabama State University unless your super busy like myself! All in all, thats the cafe in a nutshell (=

There are many things that makes Alabama State University unique. Going to a HBCU students will experience black excellence and motivation from alumni, including others around the school. Since, my freshmen year at Alabama State University, I have created a bond with students and staff around the campus and I have enjoyed an variety of activities that kept the excitement about school alive. We have an excellent library and student center that is provide to us. Also, we have different labs such as the writing lab, history lab ,math lab , science lab and reading lab that help students with their assignments and exams; each lab has a tutor and free printing available for students. As a result, if I could do it all over again I will still chose Alabama State University because I really have enjoyed my two years there living on campus. The professors, staff and student body have shown that they do care about our future and wellbeing on campus. So, there is no other school I will rather attend.
