Academic Flexibility: Academic Flexibility – There is a lot of diversity in my classrooms. People from all over actually. Most teachers are pretty great, well the ones that I have had so far. Some teachers though, do not really help a student out. That's what I really need sometimes.
Frustrations I have had are probably not enough help from teachers.

Academic Experience: Limited Choices – I am an accounting major planning to switch to business. Some of the books required for the classes are made by aims as far as my understanding goes from what the book store has told me. These books are only offered new and at an expensive price. Some of the courses I have taken have had alot of work for what should be a simple class. Other courses have had little work for what should be a foundation course for other classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Do Everything Early – The financial aid process is long and tiring. Getting your financial aid figured out early is a must since the process can take a very long time. It is important to get everything in order as soon as possible since it can take 7-12 weeks for financial aid imformation to be processed. It is very discouraging for first time students to wait that long for a check since books for classes are needed right away.

Overall Experience: You Get Out What You Put Into It. This community college can be a great starting point for your college education. For the most part you will get what you put into it. The majority of the teachers are willing to go out of there way to help a student if he or she has showed that she wants to learn. The campus does not have alot to offer as far as extra activities but, it is a small community college that is affordable.

Academic Flexibility: Easy If You Live in Northern Colorado- More Difficult to Telecommute.. I live 50 miles away from the nearest campus so my tues/thursday classes involve a tedious commute, and I would have preferred to take them online, if they had they been offered. I have found that arranging schedules to fit a full time work life is relatively easy. Now that I am on my last few required classes before transferring, I found the scheduling conflicts more apparent. If you live near Loveland and Greeley, it's easy to fit all your required classes into your schedule. There is a variety of meeting times, so it's difficult to try to conform to just 2 days a week. Also, it's sometimes hard to reach anyone by phone or email during the busy times. I had the worst experience trying to figure out financial aid for Summer semester, but all other offices seem friendly and efficient.

Overall Experience: Good Start for the Working College Student.. I enrolled with Aims as a 2 time community college drop out. Out of high school, I burdened myself with things like car loans and horses, so that budgeting for school was nearly immpossible. With their entrance tests that place you in your learning group and 25% down payments that you can finance through the semester, it makes it a good alternative for people trying to figure out how to make it through the first few years of college, when youre busy learning stuff that can't constitute a raise. Now that I am almost eligible to graduate from here with an associates, Ive decided to go directly on to CSU. Now that I have my business core classes completed with nights and online classes, my resume looks more promising for the entry level accounting jobs that I am applying for. The only issue I can report is a slight effeciancy problem with their computer systems or office management. It seems that each semester I run into some sort of minor paperwork mishap involving delayed FAFSA results, weird bookstore return policies, slow communication with emailing the main branch or driving long distances to Greeley to get answers since the other campuses lack decision making staff. Other than that, I have gotten along well with all of my instructors. Given the option, I would gladly re-do my first 2 years at Aims.

Campus Resources: Photo Shop – This class in the beggining was very diffficult and then at the end of the semester i was able to accomplish very cool things.

Career Services: While I haven't graduated as of yet I do know students that have and they have express that the process is very easy. Many are not working at careers that they were able to get with help from the career cenbter and job fairs. I too believe that my road to graduation will be just as easy and travel to my next destination of continuing my education trip.

Academic Flexibility: My Educational Trip – During my time to Aims Community College there have been many changes. A lot of registration and information has been put on-line. I am sort of old fashion and like to talk to a person, and there are people available but have adjusted and have learned how to get around a computer. The instructors are really pleasent to be around and I have kept in contact with even the ones I had at the beginning of my educational trip. I will admit there have been some bumps in the road. One year there was a problem with my financial aid and had to take a semester off to fix the problem. The financial department helped walk me through the process of resolving the issue. I will also admit that I have had to repeat some classes but I was never made to feel that I was stupid or dumb because I just didn't get it. This trip has been a learning process as a whole not just to get my associated degree. I am looking forward to moving on toward earning my bachalor degree in education.

Overall Experience: The campus is situtated in the city of Greeley. Access to the college is very easy through three differen location. Each building is named and the names are visible to everyone, so finding a class is very simple. The instructors are there to teach you the subject but the are human too and will listen to any difficulties that student sometimes have when attending college. I love the campus in the spring. There are many places that landscaping has incorpated flower with the natural terrain. The college makes is possible for students with all types of learning disablities to attend and offers classes both during the day and evening. Aims has a tutoring center that is high on my list of assistance and very much needed. I would encourage anyone wanting to go back to school to check out Aims Community College before they committ themselves to other types of learning.

Campus Resources: Network Hassles With Personal Computers – I have tried using my laptop and my tablet on the schools network, and I have a really hard time connecting, which is an inconvenience to me trying to work on things that I have saved to my computer. Printing is also an issue too, they charge five cents per page and I have to log in to their computers to use their program to print.

Overall Experience: Good school, flexible programs including online and night classes, classes at multiple campuses available, teachers seem proficient in their area. This is a small CC but it gets the job done and is not too expensive

Campus Resources: I think more funds could be put into the library and what books you can check out. I have actually used the Denver Public Library to find some of my books. The Main campus is nice, plus there is plenty of organizations that one can join.

Academic Experience: There have been some classes that I just loved! I wish that they had more history and gen ed classes online. This semester I have to go to two different campuses to take required classes. Some of the curriculum has been way too liberal in opinion rather than in fact, not all books but some. I really don't want to know why the author of some book hates George W. Bush.
I don't like that the summer class schedule isn't out. It is hard to plan for classes.
The tutors do a good job in helping in their fields.

Campus Resources: The teachers at Aims have made the biggest difference for me. When my son and husband were hospitalized a day apart out of state. It was the teachers that helped me get through the trauma and continue my education. But the financial aid office and the main advising office, I didn't feel like they really cared if Chuck, my husband and I graduated. When Chuck started college full-time due to his car accident and not being able to continue in his field of work, I don't think Aims helped us as much as they could have. There were too many audits and extra phone calls. But the teachers really have made the difference.

Campus Resources: Computer Labs – the hours are very dependable. most printing is free in black and white.

Academic Flexibility: Leaving or Being Late to Class – if you know you are going to be late or need to leave early for some reason, most of the teacher will work with you as long as you let them know what is going on. special with children who had afters school thing or teacher conferences they were pretty good with working with you as long as you let them know a head of time but they also understand that life happen. most of my credits transferred.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Class Sizes – The classes are smaller so you have so much more interaction with you teachers one on one.

2 College Student

Campus Resources: Student Center – I have had to gather a few supplies for me classes, however there is always one thing that I have needed, and they have been out of it every time I visit. I have filled out a request order, and they told me that they would call me when they have it in, and they never did.

3 College Student

Academic Flexibility: Kinda Frustrating – In order to become enrolled in the CNA class, I had to provide a lot of information, more so than I have needed for any of the others classes I have taken here. There were also a lot of steps that the school didn't provide to me before hand that I didn't know I would need to take until after orientation. It would have been nice if their website was a little more informative.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Financial Aid that I recieve is absolutely amazing. Some of the people that work in the office are a little rude but the aid itself is very good.

Student Body: Diversity Is What Makes the Best Learning Environment – The Student Body at my school is excellent. They are not all geniuses or incredibly good at sports. It is a very diverse group of people and they are all friendly. There is no popularity contest or the "In-Crowd". I formed a study group in one of my psycology classes last semester. In our group, there was a high school senior testing the college waters, a single mother trying to better her life for her and her daughter, a 55 year old who decided to get an education after her kids were all grown, a guy that just got out of the army and hadn't decided on what career path to follow, and me. A 31 year old, disabled mother of 5 children and finally have my life together enough to finish school. We all were able to learn from each other's experiences and excel in our class.

Campus Resources: I Love My School's Computer Network! The available computer network on my campus is excellent. There are always computers available to work on with internet connection. Printing costs only 5 cents. I was easily connected to a wireless connection on campus with my laptop. I did not have to enter in all kinds of "Crazy" information to log on. The speed of their network does not slow down when I am connected wirelessly or when a lot of people are logged on. They also offer a lot of e- materials that I can download to my android tablet. I don't know of anything else I could request from them.

Overall Experience: My College Wants Me to Succeed – My school offers a lot of opportunities to help students succeed. It has tutors, supportive clubs, ways to earn money to help you through, and the teachers genuinely care whether or not you succeed. Any one of the staff members will help you in any way that you ask them and if they aren't able to help, they will find the person that can help you.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I really like the newer Student Center. It's beautifully built and each department within is easily accessable. There's a nice gym in the older building and there are some really neat study rooms in each of the buildings on the main Greeley, CO campus. The only thing I don't like is the fact there's never enough parking.
