Off-Campus Dining: Evans Dining Hall Vs Mollies – Evans dining hall is pitiful. Never consistent in the amount of for, this place is a last recruit for most students. The food itself, is always too salty and the health options are never actually tasteful.

Academics: Professors are truly passionate about what they teach. The professors here are amazing. They aren't the kind who are only interested in their own research projects and only teach because they have to. They genuinely care about their students and are always open to provide help when needed. All of my professors are great at linking the material we learn in class to the real world. The classes here teach you to think outside the box and look at things in all manners: pragmatically creatively, and reflectively. I couldn't have asked for a better education.

Local Area: Decatur Is Pretty Fantastic – What's great about Agnes Scott is that it's right in Decatur. Decatur is a lovely neighborhood with the right amount of cozy charm of a suburb mixed with so many interesting shops and restaurants. Everything in Decatur is within walking distance which is especially good if you're like me and don't have a license (let alone a car). Decatur is a small enough area where you won't get lost and after a few weeks streets become recognizable and you can pretty much find your way around with some basic knowledge. There's the Cliff bus station to get to Emory University and MARTA to get to Atlanta. If you go into a store and say you're from Agnes Scott there's bound to be someone who either went here, or knows someone who went here, or just appreciates the warm atmosphere Agnes Scott has to offer.

Diversity: A Community of Acceptance – People on-campus are very accepting of people of differing sexual orientations. There are many on-campus clubs for people of different ethnic/racial backgrounds, and I think we have multiple LGBT groups on campus. All of these groups have widespread participation on campus.

Academics: Difficult, but Rewarding – There are few easy A's at Agnes Scott College. Even the entry level classes encourage you to think deeply. I came in expecting to coast through those classes like I did in high school, but I have found that to continue to receive A's in classes, I had to meet with professors and go to the free tutoring offered on campus. All of the professors are willing to schedule time to meet with you and the tutors in the Math and Science learning center and the writing center are also very helpful. The school holds itself to a high moral standard, with an honor code that allows professors to give take-home tests, and allows us to self-schedule finals. I do wish we had more sections of courses to choose from for scheduling, but that is small-college life.

Campus Housing: HUGE Rooms – Agnes Scott is known for its large dorm rooms. As a freshman, you'll have a walk-in closet with shelving, and a decent-sized room. As an upperclassman you'll have several options, although the rooms are all a bit larger than those for freshmen--plenty of space for a table or a couch. The only drawback is that the upperclassman dorms don't all have air conditioning, and sound travels a bit in these old buildings!

Off-Campus Dining: Decatur Dining – Decatur is home to some pretty unique restaurants! Within walking distance is a noodle shop, Japanese restaurant, two Thai restaurants, several diners, and a pizza place. If you have a car or friend who can drive and are eating on a budget, I suggest Dekalb Farmer's Market. You pay by the pound for food, and it has a variety of ethnic and homestyle foods. The catch: They only accept cash!

Weather: Yesterday it was 65 and sun-shining; today it was 35, windy and hazy. The weather is very inconsistent but luckily we have a very small campus and do not have to walk very far to classes.

Off-Campus Dining: Too Many Off-Campus Choices – There are many off campus choices for dining and they are all in walking distance of the school and each other. The prices can be relatively high but the quality is amazing.I have not been disappointed yet,and Agnes Scott students are loved and get many discounts especially at the Pita Pit.

Campus Food: Small Campus but Great Options – The school is fairly small, but the dining hall has many options that can suit everyone's taste buds. For a snack black cat cafe or mollies is loaded with anything you need.

Campus Quality: Agnes Scott has an environment in which it allows people to express themselves. There are so many different organizations and clubs that it is impossible for someone not to find one they fit in to. Every week we have guest speakers, events, and sport games. Something is always going on, there is never a boring time at Agnes Scott.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Convenient but Not Cheap – There are many options of public transportation and it is very convenient, but if you want to drive your own vehicle it is not very likely that you will find a good parking spot, nor a cheap one. Public safety at Agnes Scott is willing to pick you up anytime of the day if for some reason you can not make it back to campus.

Majors: Good Job Scotties – By attending this college, you have a very good chance of getting an intern ship during and after college, a job, or even acceptance into graduate school. They prepare you very well an they also have very good connections.

Guys & Girls: All Girls School – It's all an girls school. Guys are here in your Senior level classes, but other than that you'll have all girl classes. Great for non distractions, but if you are a lesbian you still have that distraction.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Southern Comfort – The food is very greasy and very southern style. There isn't much change in day to day food. After freshman year, save your money on the meal plan so you can eat out as there are many affordable places off and around campus to eat.

Weather: Recently, the weather has been changing frequently. It will be warm one week then chilly the next week or warm the first few days of the week and cold the last days of the week. Sometimes it will be cold in the morning and you bundle up, but then by the afternoon you have to remove your layers of clothing to cool down.

Diversity: Why Does This Have a Title? Srsly? Ethnicaly/racially Agnes is quite literally 50% Chinese (from China, not a crude generalization) exchange students who rarely attempt to speak English or ever stray from their group.
Economically almost everyone at Agnes is a stuck up spoiled brat. Everyone here gets financial aid from the school so I don't understand where the cockiness comes from, but most everyone is just a little rich kid with their head in the clouds.
Politically, everyone here is a super liberal democracy.
Sexual orientation is about 50/50 with half the students identifying as straight and the other half as LGBQT(and whatever other letters get attached to this weird acronym that literally no one knows because everyone is so tired of hearing about it.

Local Area: Agnes Scott is perfect because it is walking distance from Downtown Decatur, which includes The Square. The Square is home to many different nice restaurants and shopping centers, along with events held there sometimes. The MARTA Station is also a 5 minute walk from Agnes making transportation easy to those who don't have cars. Also, Decatur is near Atlanta and there is plenty to do, being the capital of Georgia. Safety at Agnes is great it is also mindful to just be aware of surroundings when you go out.

Party Scene: Night Life – Black Cat is a hootin' hollerin' woopin' good time. Apart from this week parties on campus are rare and somewhat tame. However, if you are looking to party, you will not have any trouble finding a crowd and a scene to call your own.

Drug Safety: Not Exactly "Stone Cold Sober" – For a school on the Princeton Review's Stone Cold Sober list, it's pretty clear that Agnes Scott definitely is not sober. Agnes Scott has a wet campus, and it's fairly common for there to be alcohol at events and the homecoming "Black Cat" week is a total drunken mess that the campus embraces. That being said, there is no pressure to drink if you do not want to and many students have a vibrant social life at Agnes and in Atlanta without drinking.
The drug scene is not big at all. Some people smoke but usually do it privately or off-campus, but it's only certain groups.

Local Area: Decatur is a great college town with super easy access to Atlanta via public transportation. In Decatur, there are tons of festivals, amazing and quaint restaurants, and cute shops to browse through. Atlanta itself is a great city with tons of attractions, from touristy stops like the World of Coca Cola and the Georgia Aquarium to student hot spots like College Night at the High Museum. Overall, you can't beat the area with schools like Emory, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State right around the corner.

Weather: Hot during move-in (Summer). Beautiful in the Fall. Winter is average. But it has a great possibility of raining--alot.

Guys & Girls: This is a Women's College the only Men here are our Staff and Faculty. The Women are amazing some of the most beautiful, fun, outgoing, confident, intellegent, creative, self-determined, and hardworking people I have met in my whole life. :)

Campus Quality: Campus is beautiful!
Woodruff Athletic Facility & Alston Campus Center are two athletic facilities open to campus community and a run around the school campus is also very safe and rewarding.
The Alston Student Campus Center is full of life.
McCain Library gorgeous and resourceful--very conducive for learning
Campus Activities--There is always something happening!

(Per not giving campus an A+ it is not possible for the campus to be completely flawless--we could use some renovations i.e. in the Residence Halls)

Drug Safety: Most of the drug problems at ASC involve misuse of prescription drugs or marijuana.

Agnes Scott is a liberal arts school with a small professor-to-student ratio, with rigorous academics and a thriving club life. The professors are all passionate about the subjects they teach and have had some experience in their fields, too. For the most part, they bring their all to each class. Not only are the professors intelligent and passionate, but they are also personable. There are few professors who are difficult to speak with about problems, anxieties, or comments about a class. The same can be said for all of the faculty and staff at Agnes. Everyone is committed to allowing students to learn and grow. The small community helps everything be personal.

Agnes helps to shape students into well-rounded individuals with the skills to enter a career. In order to get the full Agnes experience, it's important to put yourself out there. Many skills can't be acquired without reaching out to the College's offices or clubs/organizations. However, the most important thing any prospective student should remember about Agnes when making her big decision is that Agnes is a small, private, women's liberal arts college. All of these factors are important to consider because they will determine the experience you have. All in all, the Agnes experience is a wonderful one, but students should be aware that this experience is only obtained if they actively engage in the community around them.
