1 College Freshman

Diversity: At Adams State College now a university the campus has a very diverse student bosy. Since the school is made up of mostly athletes students are accepted the same. We do have kids from different countries so relgion, political beliefs have a wide range.

3 College Junior

Administration: They try to be as strict as possible, but students get away with a lot of things. I also don't appreciate that there are no security cameras because there are a lot of hit and runs...my vehicle has multiple dents in it from someone else hitting it in the parking lot and then just leaving.

3 College Junior

Diversity: There are many diverse people on campus. There are many hispanics, blacks, asians, and other ethnicities on campus. There are also many homosexual people. I believe that for the most part the campus community is accepting of all these diversities.

2 College Junior

Weather: It is extremely cold from about October through until about March. If you like the cold it's not too bad. Also, it is very windy here in the valley. There aren't many days when the wind isn't blowing especially come spring.

2 College Freshman

Parking: The campus police are out all day writing tickets for the most ludicrous of infractions and the most convenient parking lots are visitor lots

3 College Sophomore

Administration: There are not that strict around here, but you do need to folllow the rules or it could cause trouble for you and your education.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I would say that there are places to stay off campus around here you just have to look. It is not that hard cause its a little town.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene is big at Adams State. Usually you see smokers around, but if you go to parties there is people drinking and using weed.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining options around the college are mainly fast food restaurants. They have a few good restaurants around town and they are priced to a cost of affordability.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Adams State College, now a University, has small classes sizes and is more hands on with professors and fellow students. It is enjoyable to be at school here.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: The gym, library, and green spaces around campus are very adequate to student life.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Alamosa has alot of apartments and houses for rent around campus. They are mostly affordable but are not as nice as what you pay for.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The police do a pretty decent job of protecting the campus, but sense this is such a small town, they pull you over for some of the most ridiculous reasons. The school also has a system that alerts you if a murder or rapist is on the loose, the alert system will send us a text telling us we should stay indoors.

2 College Freshman

Weather: It snows a lot and the temperature reaches the negatives more often than usual. Classes are far away, so when it gets cold it is extremely hard to walk to class and stay warm.

2 College Freshman

Transportation: No transportation unless we have our own car or if someone is will to drive us.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Professors care, but are limited in number. The English Department (my major), is close knit, and accesable.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: The adventure program offers rides to their events.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not great. Few options. No place to get a great burger.

5 College Freshman

Majors: The English department is very close with each other, and from what I've seen, all of the other departments are the same. The work is what you would expect out of college, and the same goes for curriculum. The English building just got renovated, so everything is new and pretty. All English Majors have the chance to work in what is called the "writing workshop" if they want.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: It is honestly up to the people you know. Technically, there are two clubs in town that a lot of people I know enjoy. Personally, though, I've had much more fun going to the Sand Dunes with a bunch of my close friends, and just hanging out.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: As far as I know, the only transportation they have for non-athletes is the friends you have and their cars. It's a small town, though, so everything is within walking distance, for the most part.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The RA's can be a bit strict sometimes, but it's their job. They are always friendly, though, and are usually "on your side" about most things. They honestly just want to help you.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There aren't many places open past like eight and I'm under 21 so bars aren't exactly fun to be at.

4 College Freshman

Technology: Sometimes there aren't enough computers in the labs for students to use but its getting better since they decided to open up another lab 24/7

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Alamosa doesn't exactly have the nicest arrangements but they're livable.
