Tuition & Financial Aid: The education I think is very much worth the money. but at firs I didn't think the prices were going to be so high but now as I have completed a semester I see haw very much this is a massing school.

Academic Flexibility: I really like haw the online classes work. I was ones home schooled but the online classes at academy of art are so so much beater the programs or simple to work . I'm very glade to be studding at Academy of Art university.

Online Courses: I have taken some online courses at AAU and they were a unique experience. I usually hear very bad things about online schooling, but I thought AAU's classes were set up pretty well. The main downside was the teacher was not always available to answer questions, so if you were working at a certain time of day and got stuck, you might have to wait for their response until the next morning when they logged on again. That was an issue that I came across a few times.

Overall Experience: So far I'm having a good experience at AAU. If I could do it again, I would probably still choose to go to this school, but I would try to get some liberal arts credits from a community college first to save some money. Once you start school there you can't acquire credits from other schools and transfer them. I haven't been in the program very long, but so far things are going well and I'm looking forward to the rest of the program.

Campus Quality: Well, it's a famous art school located in San Francisco city so that's pretty interesting. The campus is comprised of several buildings located in various parts of the city. The school provides a free shuttle service to help students get around the city to their classes and housing. There are also some cafes for students were you can hang out or do homework. Some clubs hosts meetings at the cafes. For those who enjoy the big city and like to move around in it, it's a good school.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I'm just starting the program so I don't know for sure, but I've heard that there are pretty good intern opportunities available, and the school's good reputation can help get your resume noticed.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Computers are sort of slow and the wi-fi for your phone or laptop is spotty, at least in certain rooms and buildings. In the library the network speed seems faster.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Recourses are good here. There is a large library, workshops, clubs, etc.

2 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I found out after starting school here that I would not be able to transfer any liberal arts classes from another school if I went in the future. I'm not sure if this is normal. I guess they only transfer credits you've obtained prior to attending school. The teachers and faculty aren't all that flexible, due to their strict policies.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Because it's a for-profit art school it is extremely expensive. I'm enjoying my time here, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost. I guess I won't know for sure until I'm done with the program and find out if my school experience will help me land a good job. I'm hoping I can find scholarships to help.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: It's a lot of work but AAU is a good school to be for a major in animation. The workload can be a lot for full-time students, but all of the classes are very art focused. The school often has seminars and events, which are great to attend if you have time.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The teachers are knowledgable and friendly, but many of them grade very strictly. Registering for classes is very quick and easy, you can do it over the phone with your advisor who will provide suggestions and descriptions of the classes. If you are falling behind, there are workshops and free tutoring to help you catch up.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: The students at AAU are mostly creative and nerdy people who are easy to talk to and get along with. Most everyone seems pretty friendly. Most of the students are white and seem to come from wealthy backgrounds, but there is still some diversity, as we have students from all over the country and many international students, too.

Overall Experience: San Francisco as a city is a fantastic place to grow and to attend college here is such a wonderful experience.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: The professors are all very friendly and willing to help. Many of them have workshops that accompany the course. Many of the classes are less than 15 students per class so it is easy to get personal help from the teacher even during class time.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: The foundation classes range across all majors so that fashion majors and gaming majors mingle in the same classes sometimes. The workload is to be expected of a serious school.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: The computer labs are spacious and comfortable, the network has never been a problem here. Even with the computers up and running and certain students using complex programs it has yet to crash.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: The campus groups often host their own events but they don't always coordinate with each other which means one doesn't often know about a campus activity or athletic event until the very day of or a few days after when the flyers are finally posted. Certain gyms are closed off in the dorms so that even if you live in the building you can use the facilities. The shuttles are poorly timed.

However, the student centers are very accommodating and the library is ideal for a quiet and serious work space.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Quality: The school owns 2% of San Francisco which is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand every building has it's own focus and after a while you get to know certain staff and classmates who are truly dedicated to their craft. On the other hand, traveling to and from class takes a lot of time and the shuttles aren't always reliable. So long as you're smart about your time it isn't too much of a hassle.

4 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: The school constantly has facilitates events to show off their students to prospective employers. Even some of the larger studios come up in order to see student work and participate in workshops.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: I go to school online so I find that a lot of the time my classmates are busy with work or families. I too, have a full time job and other responsibilities, but I try to make it a habit to log on frequently and post in the discussion topics -- I'm finding that a lot of the time I'm one of the few people posting anything at all and this makes it difficult to get points for participation when no one else is talking.

Campus Resources: I don't live on campus so I am essentially forced to use the online libraries the Academy offers. A lot of the time when I am searching for a book or magazine that will help with a paper, the library will simply just tell me the item is "on shelf" which I'm assuming means the book or magazine is on the shelf at the school, which doesn't help me when I need to be able to see it online.

Academic Experience: Regarding being an animation/Rigging major, there are a lot of like minded people to interact with and get feed back on. There is always someone willing to help, whether they are a fellow classmate or one of the heads of departments.

Academic Experience: The vibe of the place is pretty welcoming overall. The professors are all easily approached and are willing to direct you to people who know information that they may not. The subjects I've gone through so far have all given me something new I hadn't known during my field work, so it was great to pick up new tricks. I'm not a particularly huge fan of the early registrations for the next session, as they start literally five weeks into the current semester, but nothing major there.
