Student Body: The city is so big it's hard to meet people. Making the school a bit harder to meet people in. It's not a closed and personal campus where you see the same faces all the time.

Tuition & Financial Aid: This school is insanely expensive. If you are paying this much for school, I don't think you should have to pay additional lab fees and whatnot. This is not an ivy league college, yet I'm paying a similar price..

College Freshman

Career Services: I haven't graduated yet, so I don't know about the career services.

Academic Experience: The classical art values that they teach really create amazing results. It definitely refines technique and hones talent. It's a great resource to be able to learn from professionals in your intended field. The workload can be difficult, as the time it takes to finish an art piece can vary greatly.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: A lot of the professors are industry professionals, which is an amazing resource to have as an aspiring artist. The downside is that artists can be a little more lax about timing. Can take long amounts of time to grade/return work.

Campus Resources: Since the campus is in the city, a lot of them are old and kind of dirty. The library doesn't have enough computers at any given time, and since the events taking place at the school are in the city, it can be expensive to attend them. The educational resources are good.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The school is awesome with flexibility they are very accommodating and really help you get through. For my undergraduate degree I received a degree from a nationally accredited school and it was hard to find a school that I could go to for my graduate degree. AAU is both regionally and nationally accredited so I was able to transfer easily. I also had to take a couple of breaks due to deaths in the family and personal injury and I when I was ready to start up again I was able to do so easily.

Overall Experience: Great education, great teachers, and great peers it is just very expensive.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The school and education are great the biggest challenge you will have is paying back your student loans.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I finished the program and just presented my Thesis I will be graduating soon. My experience is great. I have already started paying back my student loans an I know that will be the biggest challenge and is the biggest downside to my education here at the Academy of Art University.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: That is a big reason I went to this school I was able to complete my whole education online. It was very manageable.

3 College Senior

Student Body: The students I worked with were great. The only issue that I had was that they would accept anyone into this program even if they didn't have an artistic background so it would slow down the pace of education for people like me who were already working at a graduate level. Even so the student did work hard and the ones who didn't drop out continued on to do great work. If you have little artistic skills and want to develop them with hard work that will be possible here.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I got what I wanted and that was my MFA. That being said any art school is expensive and AAU is no difference. I never felt cheated because I knew what I was getting into. This school is both Regionally Accredited and Nationally Accredited so I was able to transfer here to get my MFA where I did not have many other options.

College Senior

Career Services: I never used their Career Services as I already had work in my field. I was just advancing my education.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I went back to graduate school after working in the industry for several years. When I came back many of the classes seemed very simple although there were several challenging classes.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: I believe that this is one of the best schools for the arts. I never felt cheated with receiving my education.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I went to school online and I seemed to have almost everything that I needed to finish my degree.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I recently changed my major from fine art to photography and the process was easy and quick. My classes for the most part are flexible and i usually had a three day weekend.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The school is unique in location and campus type, it's extensive online courses and great teachers, but the cost is a HUGE drawback.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The class sizes are small and the teachers are great and dedicated to helping each student one on one.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Its a good school for talented people with a lot of money. The teachers and other staff are great but admin needs to fix some things like buses, costs of tuition and classes, dorms and classrooms being upgraded. There is no family or friend atmosphere as there is no actual campus

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The online classes are very easy to log into, and to understand. You don't have to be tech savvy to understand how to operate through the classes. They offer classes all year round in for the most, every subject and major. The class is centered around doing the work when you can but still turning things on time. The teachers are understanding and very good at clearly conveying the assignment and what they are looking for.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: Because AAU is not a traditional campus there are less places to run into classmates, the dorms are not friendly to people who do not live there, and the clubs are hardly active. The student body has rare events and usually poorly advertise them. You mostly meet friends through class that you go to once or twice a week, so much not interaction. Also, because the workload is pretty heavy, there is no such thing as parties, etc. If you are looking for that tradition college experience, you won't find it at AAU.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is very expensive and doesn't cover classes, which are also extremely expensive and charged separate. The education is worth the money but at the same time, i'd say the same thing if it were a few thousand dollars less, which would make and my parents much happier. On top of tuition, dorms, meal plans, and classes they try to squeeze out every dime with costs with mac labs and fines with rooms. Financial aid is often given and asked of for probably every student.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven't experienced this side of the AAU but they seem to really advertise he work of talented alumni and often show gallery work for alumni artists. I know that there are required job courses that help with networking and resumes. From what i understand, nearing graduation they really focus on trying to put the student into the industry as soon as possible, which is nice.
