Campus Resources: Resources are available to students through the student resource learning center (RLC). There are a number of resources available for students as well as movies and other non-related books to read just for fun. One of the things I like the most is if you go to a professor with a problem and they can't help they WILL point you in the right direction and then check on you to make sure you got what you needed, not left hanging.

Overall Experience: To date, my experience at YTI has been very pleasant and rewarding. Classes have limited number of students per class to ensure the individualized training and help that's needed. One day in lab my partner was absent and we were making several different things during our class. Everyone was partnered up but I was preparing the items alone. Numerous other students offered to help set up or check on things for me. This was very touching. The fact that the classes have a limited number also helps to teach us team work, cooperation and working together.

Student Body: I have not experienced any segregation and there are a diverse group of individuals in different classes. Everyone has been friendly and talkative including others in conversations, activities, etc.

Online Courses: non of my classes are online.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My only frustration with tuition is the lack of exact website/information on obtaining scholarships and/or grants, it seems to be a well kept secret and I think that more specific information should be made available to help with the cost.

Academic Flexibility: I've not had credits to transfer but that was one of the first things my admissions representative asked. I've had a very positive experience with my instructors and admissions staff at YTI. Considering the distance some of the students have to travel on a daily basis they are very flexible. It is our responsibility as students to show up for class and are only allowed to miss a certain number of days but overall they are flexible.

Career Services: Career services at YTI is extremely hands on. They are willing to coach you for interviews so you know how to present yourself and you feel confident. They also help with updating your resume. As part of the alumni you can set in on a class with permission and take part in certain activities.

Facilities: The academic programs are intense but rewarding and worthwhile. Student services is a huge help in "braking the ice" and their door is always open. What sets YTI apart from the rest is the dedication and experience of their staff. While teaching they bring "real life" everyday situations they've experienced into the classroom to help the students have a better understanding.

Campus Resources: There are several computer labs throughout the school and computers available in the student resource center which are open to students for projects they have. The printers are all easy access and the network is very reliable. Once your logged on the speed almost instantaneous.

Academic Experience: My major is pastry arts in the culinary arts program. Research I did prior to signing on with YTI showed me that they have one of the best programs in the area and is headed by renowned chef Susan Notter, who carries numerous awards. It's especially helpful that chef Notter not only heads the department but instructs as well. Pastry arts is not just baking it involves science and math and we are taught the relationship between the academic part and the baking part. YTI has state of the art teaching kitchens as well as the most current curriculum.

Academic Experience: YTI is a technical institute who's staff truly want to see their students succeed by offering individual help when needed, access to computers when needed to complete assignments, help with resumes and interviewing. I'm in my first term but the admissions counselor knows my name and checks in periodically to see how things are going....amazing!

Campus Resources: There is a small Resources Center with a library of very specific books and regular journals/magazines for each field of study at the school. There are also 4 computers here for student use. There is a small lounge with vending machines and microwaves/refridgerators.

3 College Senior

Student Body: Almost everyone is nice but people are so wrapped up in their own little world that it's rare to actually get to know anyone.

Tuition & Financial Aid: You are responsible for your finances. Do not assume that things are going on behnd the scenes. Ask questions, get progress reports, even nag if you have to. Financial Aid is pretty good at this school, but they are still only humans.

Campus Resources: Ask and You Shall Recieve – The resource room is small but useful. You can order information from other sites if what you need is not at the campus. There are several online resources you can obtain for class support.

They offer study help. Help in math or writing if needed.

Academic Experience: Staff Is SUPER – I have never met a more friendly staff and students. Everyone is very helpful. If you have a question you feel very comfortable in asking. The professors make themselves available to you ALL the time. They want you to succeed and do everything in their power to make it happen.

They also do fun things on campus to make the learning experience more exciting.

I would recommend YTI to anyone who is looking for a new career or to start a career.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I was pleases to see all of the items included in the tuition package. It was an easy process to get registered. Unfortunately, since I am a returning student with a previous degree I do not get a lot of aid from the state or grants. But they were helpful in finding ways for me to finance my education.

Student Body: Very Friendly – The students are very helpful and nice to work with

Campus Resources: Not Bad – I am a new student there. I am not very familiar with the extra curricular activities if there are any. As far as the academic I am very please with what I have seen thus far. The staff has been very helpful. The student as well.

College Junior

Overall Experience: Im happy with the choice I made. It all happened so suddenly and Im glad that I did it.

College Junior

Campus Resources: Hopefully able to find someone to carpool with so we both can save money in the process of getting our degree.
