Drug Safety: Mostly all students drink alcohol on the weekends and a lot of them definitely smoke marijuana. Other drugs, not so much. Students just try and half fun and let loose on the weekend because they are all so stressed during the week. Nothing too serious that would mess up their school careers.

Campus Strictness: Worcester State is not too strict. Since we are a dry campus, if there is noticeable alcohol then you will get written up. Police sometimes walk through the dorm hallways on weekends to check. As long as students are not loud and obnoxious they will be fine.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Normally older students go to bars on Thursday and Friday nights and there is mostly always a party off campus on Saturdays. There is never anywhere to party on campus because the dorms are small and get broken up as soon as more then five people are in a dorm. The school is a dry campus as well so students have to be careful when drinking.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received a lot of financial aid which was definitely needed, although I am still struggling to get more.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I love my professors, they understand how to teach and always go at the pace the the class needs.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not had an internship and I have not gotten any information on one yet since I am still in my freshmen year. I would assume that the school sets students up with appropriate internships for their majors.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There are a lot of bars and clubs for students to attend on weekends, and also a few good restaurants around Worcester. But Worcester is not a good area for walking and I would not feel safe living there after college.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There are always police parked on the main entrance to campus, but they normally watch for drunk students just trying to walk back to their dorms.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are apartments next to the school, but houses are far away, mostly over ten minutes driving distance. I would not recommend living off campus, especially since there are new dorms being built.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: We are all equal at Worcester State University.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: We are a D3 school, so sports is not the main thing on our minds at Worcester State. Most people attend the games when it is nice outside though. They can be fun and we are not that bad for our ranking.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Students are generally nice for the most part. They keep to themselves unless someone reaches out to them. It is easy to make friends in dorm buildings because every one hangs out at night.

4 College Freshman

Academics: We have great academic classes that students can take, and all of the professors are kind and helpful to all students.

3 College Freshman

Computers: They are typical Dell desktop computers, but most students bring in their own laptops for class work.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There have not been many crimes on campus and there are many opportunities presented to us to feel safe.

Academics: Its great to be my specific major at my school. Not many schools offer biotechnology as a major in the state of Massachusetts and Worcester state does that and also a major program. The workload is manageable but is a workload nevertheless. Facilities are pretty good and internships as well as job opportunities are exceptional. Wouldn't choose another school to do a program at. the price is just right and the educations is amazing. you cant beat that.

Nightlife: The nightlife at Worcester state university is amazing. You got two under 21 clubs/bars where there is a shuttle on the hour that comes and picks you up from campus as well as drops you off. Eliminating drunk driving and expensive taxi drives. Always packed at these two venues. If your over 21 years old or just get your way in with your looks, you got tons of options. you got water street, green street and park ave. All streets that have multiple bars/clubs. Because Worcester is the second largest city in New England and house 13 colleges. Nightlife is non-stop. Best nights for underage are Thursday nights at those two venues. Best night for 21+ as well is Thursday followed by Saturday night. Fridays are ehhh. Taxis run all night long and if you got a friend or two, the price is very reasonable.

Drug Safety: As a student who lived on campus for 2 years and attended my share of parties and also meeting many different individuals the drug scene is very limited. There really isn't a visibility of hard core drug use. A little marijuana and Adderall use here and there but that's about it. of course alcohol which has some peer pressure but then again which school doesn't. Drug peer pressure though is non existent.

Athletics: There really isn't one sport that receives much fan support. Sports are really not a factor nor is school spirit. This may be due to the fact that we are a state school. The gym facilities though are being re-done and will be amazing by this upcoming 2014 fall semester. As of right now they are both athletic friendly and student friendly. Team performance are mediocre. They football field and baseball field were recently done over as of 2007 2012 respectively.

Majors: There is a wide range of majors to choose from when attending a state university such as Worcester state university. I am very pleased with my program as a biotechnology major. Professors are awesome because its not a huge campus and they can put a name with a face easily. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't, however though that's not to say changing programs would be a bad thing. All my friends are in different programs and majors yet they love everything about it just as I do. My career goals is to obtain my bachelors degree and then pursue a pharmD in pharmacy. As far as finding a job, the school is very good at getting your foot in the door with businesses making finding a job less strenuous.

Majors: Like any programs, they are competitive. You need letter of recommendations and preferably from a professor within that major. A difficulty I encounter was meeting the deadlines as I did not pay attention to them. They do tell you about them but just once and then its up to you to be sure you meet them. My advice, when taking a class with a professor who is in the major of the program, become close with them creating a good bond. Good bond equals good letter of recommendation. Also write down any deadlines that you hear about right away and somewhere you can always see it.

Campus Strictness: This campus is a dry campus, which means absolutely no drinking regardless of age. With that said, they aren't the IRS, trying to crack down on you at every opportunity possible. As long as noise level is at a decent level and there are no scenes made, one can drink on campus. I did it for the two years I lived on campus. Now if caught there is a judicial where its set up as a court like system. If this happens, depending on the severity and the charges one may be placed on probation then next step would be no longer able to live on campus and lastly expulsion. Be smart and you will be fine. Never had a judicial, they are rare to get. Usually a slap on the wrist.

4 College Senior

Transportation: The transportation options at Worcester State University is great. The shuttle runs every hour from 6am-7pm, there are two city buses running every 1/2 hour from 4a-10p making it accessible for pretty much everything from malls to other schools to libraries to downtown and just about anything.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It doesn't really matter. A lot of places will deliver here.

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: It sucks. Unless you take a cab to another college around here.
