3 College Junior

Athletics: Winthrop university is a division 1 college so the athletics are held to a high standard. The teams do well and the school as a some what decent support system, but we are the only D1 college in South Carolina without a football team. For me that was and is a huge let down so I became a bit disheartened about supporting the athletics.

Local Atmosphere: Winthrop offers tuns to do on campus to make up for the lack of things to do off campus. Charlotte North Carolina is about 15 minutes outside of Rock Hill, so there is shopping to do there as well as a great nightlife but inside of Rock Hill there is little to nothing to do at all. You may be able to attend a restaurant with a group of friends or maybe even do a little shopping at the strip mall but other than that all your entertainment will be on campus.

Majors: When I first transferred to Withrop university I was apart of the human nutrition program. I was accepted into the program because I was accepted into the school. To be accepted into the program as a freshman I knew that an essay was required as well as a GPA no lower than a 2.75. At first I was worried I would not be accepted into the program because I had not written an essay yet, but I was pleased to find out about my acceptance to both the school and the orogram based upon my efforts my freshman yeat at limestone college.

Majors: The human nutrition program at Winthrop is the best in the state of South Carolina. At first I was worried about the future in witch the school and program had to offer but once classes started I was thoroughly surprised. The progams iffered amazing networking possibilities, out standing learning opportunities as well as a geat support sysrem from teachers and peers. Because the human nutrition program is popular it is more challenging than other majors. Once accepted into the program if you did not uphold a GPA of a 3.0 you ran the risk of being kicked out of the program. The work load is challenging but it is something that can be done.

Guys & Girls: Its what I think you would get at any school...couples, singles, hot, not etc.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: This is the best school in the world. So many little spots to find and places to hangout--great!

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I don't do Greek life (never will) but all my friends who have joined have no regrets.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Again this is a college town so they know what they are doing! Right across the street is a McDonald's, Sub shop and Chinese place!

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The only issue is when I'm walking at night but that's mostly just me being silly. Also there are a couple of gas stations near the campus that get robbed a lot but they don't come to campus.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: We have a strong LGTBQ community but also a two strong Christian groups. We have students from 59 (?) different countries and all of the states.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Every room gets a microwave and mini-fridge, two desks, two desk chairs, two dressers and two beds. I actually store my bed away and use a loft bed--so much more space!!

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It is such a beautiful campus and the professors really know there stuff! There is such a wide variety of students and yet it still is a smaller school. The largest class I have had is 45 students...most are anywhere between 8-15! Thompson dining is okay, but I'm more then thankful we have DIGGS. Also buy a movie pass because its worth it! The biggest negative is the parking, not enough spaces close to the Dorm and if you can't find there then you have to park at Legion which is about 5-6 blocks away! Oh and the teachers are very strict on tardies and attendance!

Overall Experience: Most of friends who have graduated are in the top choice for their career because of a Winthrop degree!

Local Atmosphere: This is a college town but I think it makes people more accepting of us when we do go out...and Wal-Mart is like 10 minutes away!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many options for students who wish to live off campus. In fact there is a group of homes called "Walk To Campus Properties" that are designed just for us!

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I am theater education major. We have the some of the best teachers ... they know their stuff and it is so much fun. We have our own costume shop, a props/set building shop and great (up-to-date) sound and lighting booth!

College Sophomore

Majors: I have never had one...my friends say they are pretty awesome tho!

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I mean, it like any college...they want your money and you just have to really try and get help for it.

Academics: Academics at Winthrop are the best. It challenges you to work hard to be the best you can be.

Academics: Athletic training major is a highly underrated major when it comes to easiness. Our major is not hard, but very challenging. You really have to make sure know the information and have to apply it to what we do in our clinical setting.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: Campus security is great! We have actual police officers, which makes me feel that much safer.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Some places have college discount, which is excellent!

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: It's not the best but it's edible. the only thing we have that's healthy is the wedge, which sells salad and other healthy things.

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: It's nothing really great about Rock Hill. It's very boring for a college town. Most people go to Charlotte for fun, but it does have a lot of natural scenery which is great !

College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I wouldn't know since I live on campus. It seems to be great place.
