Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is for sure a little high for a community college, especially for me when I am paying for it myself. I had to drop to two classes a semester to afford the books, which is the most surprising cost. I have applied for financial aid my first semester and received a grant, but that was the only time I tried because now my loan is just piling up interest. The process though getting the loan was easy, the workers there are so helpful and work with you.

Student Body: At Windward Community College there is a very diverse group of people attending, as far as ethnicity and age. I love how all the culture come together, you will see groups of people outside hanging out together that you wouldn't normally think you'd see as friends. The classes are smaller, so it makes it easier to "click" with your classmates and form different and new friendships. The teachers are the best, the ones I have had really sincerely care about you passing. The school has added new features to help the students get more help with their studies, which is always available. I love the new library, it is more inviting and invites you in to want to use the library and study. Everything about WCC makes it a comfortable setting.

Academic Flexibility: Academic flexibility is very good at this school. Classes are at varying times of the day, majority mid-morning and afternoon. However, there are some classes that occur early in the morning or later in the evening for those with jobs or prior commitments that interfere with day time classes. The varying schedule options offer much needed flexibility to students.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid and Tuition at this school are very affordable. Tuition is a decent price that is straightforward, and financial aid is one of the best I have come across. The financial aid is very helpful, and without it I would not have been able to attend. The financial aid office is very helpful and understanding. They help straighten out anything that is confusing and give straight forward answers. I have had no financial discrepancies at this school, and have been very thankful of that because financial burdens can be one of the biggest most distracting problems in college, and thanks to the people at the financial aid office and the fair prices at windward it hasn't been too big of a worry for me.

Academic Experience: My academic experience has been great. I only recently have chosen a specific major, but before had just taken classes for my liberal arts until I decided. During my time it took for my core classes, I took interesting classes that were well paced with decent amounts of work and fair grading. The teachers as well were flexible and helpful, both in and out of the classroom. They are very personable and easy to talk to so it was easy to get help from them if needed.

Academic Experience: The academic courses offered at this school are limited considering the fact that it is a community college, but is currently expanding. The classes offered now are great core classes and beginning classes for certain subjects. Considering the fact that it is not an official university with a variety of classes ranging in different subjects, I find the offered amount of classes impressive. And even more so due to the fact that they are slowly expanding.

Overall Experience: My overall experience at this school has been great. I've met great people and made amazing friends. The classes in this school are decently sized with caring teachers that help students when they are asked. I feel the quality of education is the same as that of a university but with more a sense of community because the class room sizes are smaller. Opportunities on this campus are wide and in varying subjects. This school is comfortable and amazing. The diversity throughout the school is what I like the most about the school, there are varying age groups of students that are there to learn. I would definitely choose this school again if I could do it all over again and would highly recommend it to other students, especially those starting college again, or beginning it for the first time.

Student Body: The Student Body at my school is very active and friendly. They are diverse coming from different ages and backgrounds with varying goals. This diversity gives a good well rounded mix to the Student Body that I believe is important. Because of the diversity within this school I believe that makes students and faculty more accepting and open minded.

Campus Resources: I have not been as involved as I would like to be to assess campus resources as accurately as I would like to, however from what I have heard and seen the campus resources are great. School administration is very helpful and friendly to those with questions, and answer anything asked. I can tell they truly want to help students find their paths and get set in school. All the other resources such as the library, campus activities, and student centers, are phenomenal in my opinion. They offer everything needed for a college student. The library and student centers offer places of study and collaboration for students with various resources for reference. Also the campus activities are advertised promptly and thoroughly through email and flyers. There are always various activities in different subjects that offer many opportunities for almost any student.

Online Courses: I generally do no prefer online courses because it is not as hands on and interactive as in class courses however, the online biology course that I have taken online is a decent class. The teacher was well rounded in communication and online interaction with students. My teacher constantly stated his available hours to meet him if needed, and even set up mid term review study sessions to those who wanted to attend and further their studies. Overall, the online courses from my experience are good, the teacher is accessible and interactive through the internet and in person if need be.

Facilities: Some unique things about my school is the fact that it is a community college and not the typical university allows students of all ages and backgrounds to attend no matter what stage they are in their lives. I've have met a variety of many diverse people and have built relationships and made connections with these different people. There is more of a sense community that doesn't discriminate based off your age or financial background. Everyone is there to learn no matter what stage you are in your life, whether your a mother with children returning to school, or a student fresh out of high school, everyone collectively works together to reach their goals. I feel more sense of belonging at this school, especially since everyone seems to be more open minded. Students seem to be more active learners, who want to be there to better their education and are working hard to pursue just that goal. This campus and the students are attend here are overall excellent and I would highly recommend this school to anyone who was thinking about going to college.

Career Services: For me once I complete my first year in Veterinary Assisting, I feel I will be able to find a job in that field. Many students have started working in clinics before they even graduate. I feel that once I get my certificate and associate degree in Veterinary Technology, I will be able to find a job as a Vet Tech.

Campus Resources: The library offers a lot of study space (in a comfortably airconditioned room), and many computers. Its a very aesthetic building on the inside and out. A quiet and comfortable place to study.

Campus Resources: Printing is simple and free in one lab. Owning a personal computer will make doing school work easier but it is most definitely not required. There are laptops available for use and many computers. Printers are easily accessible and are affordable.

Online Courses: Registration was simple and easy. There was no difference is selecting a regular course, I was able to sign up for all the classes I needed in one sitting.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is fair and I am very relived that I can afford it. I do not qualify for financial aid this year and I am aware of why. The student fees charged are the lowest I have ever seen and am I hope it stays this way in the future. I would not be able to afford going to a different school and am lucky that the major I wanted is available here.

Academic Experience: I solely selected this school for the Veterinary Assisting and Technology major. I am currently taking 14 credits and since all courses pertain to my area of study I am happy with the workload.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: There isn't really a solid process of accepting new students into the Vet program, its mostly first-come-first-serve. I completed my placement tests as soon as I could as well as other basic requirements. It would have been nice to have some dates to complete these processes by but I feel very lucky and am happy that I got a seat in the courses I needed.

Academic Flexibility: I am only giving a low score based on one thing; I could not get an appointment with a counselor. There is an automated service to leave a name and number to schedule an appointment and I called multiple times on multiple dates and never got a call back. WCC counseling is not available for the online scheduling and if it was, things would be much easier. I am very disappointed in this service because I need to discuss transferring a credit but I do not know what steps to take. I am planning to personally go down to the office but I have not had time due to my job.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The best thing about WCC is the teachers. Though I have only encountered a few, they all exude genuine care for their students and the course they teach. I feel I can trust them and learn a lot from each of them. They want to see the students not succeed only in school, but also in life and their career after graduating. I chose WCC solely because of the Veterinary Technology major and I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the teachers are. I look forward to attending school here.

Facilities: There is a newly refurbished library that offers lots of study space, computers, free WiFi, and services for the students. Many students use the library on a daily basis and is a very good place to study and to get work done.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: The typical student at WCC is one who is looking to transfer in the near future. Most students will complete all their general education courses at our campus then will transfer to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Everyone is generally friendly though most only come to school for their classes then leave to go to their job, not necessarily staying around to hang out and study. WCC has a clean campus and a library that offers services that many students utilize. Overall the student body is friendly and most students are aiming to be transfer students, earning a degree that is not offered at WCC.

Academic Experience: The Ethnopharmacognasy Program is ran by Dr. Ignelia White, and is a very unique degree track.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: My favorite curriculum choices at this campus are within the Hawaiian Studies Degree program.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: My only real beef is class availability for many of my needed classes. Most of them are only days of the week I am not on campus, or at the same time as other classes I need. Even worse others are only available certain semesters. This makes it difficult to schedule classes I need to finish my degree faster.
