Scholarships: Generous First Year, but Feel Nervous About Subsequent Years – I think financial aid is a tricky business anywhere you go. That being said, for being one the highest-priced schools in the country, Williams gives VERY generous finacial aid (partly due to their near $2 billion endowment). I received a great financial aid package this past year. The cost was not much more than what I'd be paying to go to an in-state public school. However, now that my sister's out of college, I know that my family contribution cost will be much greater than last year. Though Williams promises to meet 100% of the student's demonstrated need, that number is constantly fluctuating. I just don't feel very secure about my future aid packages; one small change can mean having to pay thousands of dollars more.
The financial aid staff, though not the friendliest bunch, is responsive and knowledgeable about what actions to take if you have questions.

Scholarships: Williams College is very generous with financial aid and I got a significant amount of aid. Also, the financial aid office is pretty friendly so you can always talk with them if any problems occur.

Scholarships: Questbridge Helped Me Soooo Much – Both Questbridge RD Admits and Questbridge Matches get pretty equal financial aid at Williams (full ride including books). Williams now does loans again as of this year or last year, which is a bummer for the non-Questbridge, slightly more middle-class student. Overall, though, WIlliams gives incredible financial aid.
