Campus Strictness: It is also hard for me to answer this because I live off campus. Although, as I said I know many people who do live on campus. In my experience, they are very strict about parking, if you are parked in a spot you are not permitted to be, you will receive a ticket. As for "partying" in the dorms, they are somewhat strict, which I think is important. If there is not any monitoring then things get out of hand.

Majors: The process of being admitted into the education program is very easy. You must pass a hearing and eye sight exam that is done right of campus. In addition, you must pass a timed writing prompt and maintain a GPA of 3.0. My only tip is to get these tests done sooner than later because slots fill up and it is important to complete them by the deadline.

Majors: I really enjoy being an education major. There is a lot of hands on programs that you have to complete throughout your major. Such as: student teaching, observation hours, tutoring, lesson planning, and so much more. I feel as though you can only sit through so many classes and try to "learn" how to be a teacher, but there is no more affective way than hands on experience.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many fast food chains in Wayne. Therefore, I know many students go their because it is fast and affordable. There is also many Chinese and Japanese restaurants as well as Italian places. There is not a whole lot of diversity when it comes to food.

Guys & Girls: Considering I do not live on campus it is a little hard for me to answer this. My university is a big commuter school so I feel like everyone just goes to learn and take their classes and leave. There is not many friendships built.

Health & Safety: In my two years at William Paterson there has been countless theft and break ins. This worries me because I sometimes have to take night classes where I am walking out to my car alone. There is a major lack of security at night, when I feel there should be more during these hours. In my own attempt to protect myself, I always call a family member or friend when I am walking out to my car at night.

Academics: I have had some wonderful professors in my experience at college. Many of which have pushed me even more in my desired major of an educator. The registration process has been very easy, we are able to do everything online, but before hand I always meet with my advisor to discuss what classes I should be taking to keep me on task. My workload is very heavy; considering I work full time as well as go to school full time, I am up very late completing homework and papers all semester long. At William Paterson, there are many different study options, there is free tutoring all semester long for students who need extra help. In addition, they also offer opportunities for students to study abroad, which is an amazing experience.

Academics: I am an elementary education major with a minor in literature. I find this to be difficult because I only have an education advisor who is trying to guide me with my literature minor as well. These advisors do not know much about everyone else's minor, therefore it is misleading. So far in my major I have been in and out of classrooms, observing other teachers. This is extremely helpful because it allows me to learn hands on.

Athletics: Many of my friends play sports at the university, but not many people attend the games. I have never been to the gym on campus and in fact, I don't even know where it is located! My university does not take sporting events as seriously as many others do.

Diversity: In my experience thus far in college, I have experienced so much diversity. My friends are from different countries with very differing religious beliefs. This helped me open my mind to diversity and it is truly amazing to build friendships with people who are from different countries. This has helped me grow as a person and truly welcome anyone into my life.

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus. Though I know several friends who have lived on campus for a semester and choose to commute after their first semester. They were not happy with the size and quality of the dorm rooms and they felt they were not getting the social aspect that they had hoped for. Therefore, although I cannot give my personal opinion on this matter, I know several friends that have negative experiences with this.

Academics: Many classes are outdated, and not correctly giving people a path of the future.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Economics is said to be an excellent major, with many opportunities and work after school.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I currently commute due to the cost, but from what I've seen its not to good.

Campus Housing: Campus hallways are never clean. The janitor sits I'm the floor lounge and watches tv. The dorms are extremely small and bathrooms look moldy.

Off-Campus Housing: It's quite costly because Wayne Township is upscale.

Off-Campus Dining: Mcdonalds is the only place that is 24 hours. QuickCheck just opened up outside of campus which is convenient and is also 24 hours.

Drug Safety: I'll be honest, I partake in some recreational use. But I don't indulge myself in hard drugs like a good majority of students. One girl in my freshman class was caught using heroin in her dorm and still lives there.

Transportation: Shuttles run every 15 minutes everywhere and they are nice. NJ transit stops in every so often to take you to the mall or the city. (NYC)

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: No parties at night, unless you want to go to a warehouse party in the heart of Paterson which is extremely dangerous and there are no hot girls there.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There are very little choices for dining off campus and the nearest mall is Willowbrook. It is a decent mall and there is a shuttle that will take you there and back. Paterson is a hood bordering the school so you don't want to go there. Wayne is the nice suburban area that borders the opposite side of the school but it patrolled heavily by police so they are always watching you and it's just not fun.

Campus Strictness: I am actually transferring because of campus police. They harassed my friends and I and took a huge toll on us. They walk around wearing bullet proof vests and use profanity towards students. They use intimidation and fear to exploit kids and they try to self-incriminate students. The Sarge is a small lady who is the meanest person on campus. She does her job well but is just a dick. Two officers that have continuously harassed not just my friends and I, but every student on campus are officer Holland, and Officer Mcniel(younger brother) of campus police. They will freely enter your dorms and claim it smells like marijuana just so they can conduct a search. After they rip your room apart and find nothing they will leave it for you to clean up. They will charge you for the smallest things such as rolling papers even if there is no drug evidence around. (I got charge for papers) I can't stress how unprofessional campus police is at this university. It ruined the relationship between my roommate and I and that's what hurt me the most because now we don't talk. Campus police is the reason why I am transferring. They drive their cars over the grass and park in no parking zones. If you are idling your car for a minute for dropping your child off, you better hope you don't get towed or a ticket. They conduct random searches on select children. Yes I am talking about profiling against minorities. It is sad because even the colored officers act racist to their own kind. Police are here to protect and serve. As a student paying thousands of dollars to go to this school, I shouldn't feel depressed by a law official that is supposed to be there for me and you.

Athletics: Nobody ever attends the games. The football team is terrible but they all think they play for a D1 school. My high school turf was a lot better looking than this campus' field.
