Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Focus on quality of activities not quantity of activities.
  • Get involved outside of class.
  • Give back to your community.
  • Take classes that broaden your horizons.
  • Take the most challenging classes available.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Bringing an iron and three-foot long ironing board is a waste of space.
  • Do not stress about picking a major; use the first year to complete the general education requirements to get a feel for what you actually want to study.
  • Everyone is anxious about going to college and has different expectations of what college is supposed to be like.
  • It is not as hard or scary as you think.
  • Just how much it rains
  • Save quarters for laundry.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Prospective students are welcome to visit any time during the year, but it is best to come while school is in session, from September to May, and it is encouraged to set up an interview with an admission counselor. Interviews are available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Information sessions are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Campus Tours
Tours are available Monday through Friday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tours depart from the Office of Admissions lobby.
Overnight Visits
One of the best ways to gain perspective on what attending Willamette is actually like is to stay overnight with a student. You can get a taste of college life by staying in a dorm, talking to students who already go there, attending a class, and just getting a feel for the campus. The Office of Admissions will arrange class visits, overnight stays, and meetings with professors or coaches, depending on your interests.
