Several years back, there was a wedding held on the campus Greenway. The inseparable pair of Wilkes alumni wanted to say their vows at the very place they met. How sweet. (Romance rejects, barf now.) It's no wonder that many find their soulmate on the Wilkes University campus. Many are hot, smart, and if you are lucky, both. While there are many college gals who come to class in their PJs and knotty hair in a bun and baseball cap, the majority of Wilkes chicks dress to impress. With many of the students coming from major cities and the Philly, New York, and New Jersey suburbs, there is an incredible sense of fashion among Wilkes ladies, and even men. And there are plenty of laid-back, girl-next-door types as well who do not succumb to whatever law of fashion is currently being enforced.

As far as the gents, there are plenty of hotties. With Wilkes having seven men's varsity athletic sports, you can bet on lots of guys with a great build. Most Wilkes men would be classified as your rugged or preppy guy-the Abercrombie-&-Fitch type. There are also those who dress less conventionally. The school should perhaps have more people like this, as with the fashion queens and preppy guys ruling campus, there are always "the girls are stuck-up" and "the guys are typical jocks" comments. Appearance shouldn't mean those things, but stereotypes are easy to forge.

Social Scene
The social scene at Wilkes is thriving. With regular college nights at many local bars, a revitalized downtown with a movie theater, new eateries and billiards halls, and plenty of off-campus parties, there is always something to do. The student activities department and programming board offer on-campus and off-campus activities nearly every weekend. Also, because of coed dorms and apartments, guys and girls often hang out, watch TV, and sometimes drink together.
Hookups or Relationships?
This probably changes from hookups freshman year to relationships after. Many, many Wilkes students are in relationships with one another. And, many end up married. A scan of a recent alumni magazine showed several "Class Notes" entries of young alumni who were recently married.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
The best places are Luna, The Hardware Bar, Reflex, Bourbon Street, parties, and clubs and extracurricular activities.
Dress Code
Wilkes does not exactly have a dress code, but the student handbook does highlight the following: "Dress standards on the campus, in the classroom, in the library, in the cafeteria, in campus offices, and at social events should at all times be acceptable and appropriate for the occasion and location. Concern for one another indicates the necessity for clothing that is neat and clean. Shoes and shirts must be worn in all administrative and academic areas and where food is being prepared, handled, or served." Additionally, the pharmacy and business programs have adopted department professional codes which entail proper dress as it pertains to the major.
