5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: They offer counseling services which I have made use of and a lot of emergency aid, and personal resources. It is a little above the dormitories, a bit hidden but the health staff do a great job of promoting their services around campus and during classes.

College Freshman

Greek Life: As a first year student not very articulate in the whole greek system, I have come to know that Whittier College does not obtain a greek system but societies instead. Through these societies they host events and parties which are known to be very fun and a great way to meet people.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I am not aware of many students opting for this option as it seems more expensive and not as efficient as living on campus when you have a library, labs, dining options, a gym, and different sources right on campus.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is a close proximity of a variety of places to eat from: an American restaurant, an ice cream parlor, a dinar, and a mall that contains various fast food and local fast chain restaurants.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: As a commuter I am not aware of the living accommodations but I hear that there can be a noise issue, and air conditioning during the summer. From what I hear the dormitories are small but quaint. What make them more than satisfactory seems to be the living arrangements and the friendliness of roommates.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The administration is strict to a point in which students know their responsibilities and duty to attend class and therefore not miss important and educating lectures that occur on the clock.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The campus is filled with spots to relax between classes whether it is at the cultural center, or in the shade under an outdoor table near the campus center. The most beautiful place to relax is near the upper cuad where a lot of people go and play outdoors, dog friendly park, and people go out to sun bathe and enjoy the nice California weather.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: They offer a great scholarship package for fist generation Hispanic students and readily offer aid packages. However at times they are not clear about certain expenses outside of the tuition costs.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: It has a variety of educational classes that have essential foundations for any major and what any employer would look for. The professors are very approachable and open to new ideas and insights and they are readily available for help outside of class.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I quit a sport at Whittier and will play somewhere else

5 College Freshman

Weather: I love SoCal weather but I want to experience more rain and thunder and lightening

Academics: Registering and transferring process is bad

4 College Freshman

Majors: Professor Van Osbree is by far the best professor

College Freshman

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I have no friends cause they don't accept me because I don't drink. The few friends I have live nearby so they go home almost every other day. The dorm is close to class which is nice.

College Freshman

Greek Life: We have societys. I don't consider that Greek Life

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I was pressured by my team to drink so I quit. Other reasons were involved, but I was not going to be pressured into drinking. The reason I go home every weekend is because no one is on campus. Everyone is partying and I don't want to be involved with that.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I don't like the CI so i usually order dominos twice a week. It's expensive and I wish more places around campus would deliver. California Grille is expensive sometimes but the pasta is good. I also go to KFC and In N Out and Panera. KFC is the only one that is close. Nothing is really walking distance other than California Grille.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus safety is always there, however it sometimes takes them awhile to get there. I feel safe on campus and leave my door unlocked when I go to the bathroom, but I would never leave my door unlocked if I am going to be gone for more than 5 minutes.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus and I go home every single weekend. I drive about 2 hours every Friday and Sunday so I am not stuck on campus.

2 College Freshman

Parking: The parking here is terrible

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I was rewarded great aid for my freshman year. However, I'm in the midst of figuring out what to pay for next year, and the school is being vague and has not gotten back to my mother on how much money she owes them.
