Student Body: We have a very diverse and young campus at WCC. I'm part of the student government (which is a paid position), and the representation is awesome. I've been able to work with several international students and hear their perspectives and thoughts on things. People all seem to be very accepting of each other at WCC.

Facilities: I think it is the best community college here in whatcom but that not good

1 College Junior

Career Services: the career center works along with worksource. Do not keep the job postings up to date

1 College Junior

Campus Resources: the schools computers and networks are the slowest

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Fin aid wants to cut me off when I am almost done. Because I had one bad quarter, which I did every thing they had asked of me

3 College Junior

Student Body: there is a huge diversity

Academic Flexibility: coop class seriously needs to grow up, this is for first time high school students. Not people who has been in the workforce.

Overall Experience: I loved being a part of a community college and supporting community education. Not only were the professors passionate about community education, they were also very knowledgable, enjoyable people. As a student that transferred from a large public university to a smaller community college, I am very impressed with the quality of education offered at Whatcom Community College.

Online Courses: I took a hybrid online class for microbiology and loved it. It was nice to be able to study and complete assignments on my own schedule without having to spend time driving back and forth to campus. Also, when we would meet once a week to do labs, we had more time to focus on questions and completing labs rather than lecturing. Taking a hybrid class is a great option if you are disciplined self-learner.

Career Services: Whatcom is a community college that offers associates degrees that most people transfer to larger universities with career centers, a larger network base, and potential job opportunities.

Campus Resources: I don't use many of the campus services available. I know there is a large, fairly new athletic center and a nice student center and library with places to buy coffee or a snack. However, finding a quiet, open place to study has been a challenge, so I usually do that off campus.

Campus Resources: I never use the computers available on campus because the are outdated, slow, and the log-in process is a little more complicated than necessary. It is also difficult to connect to wi-fi on campus.

Academic Flexibility: I had no trouble transferring my credits from a different university as well as my AP credits. With the exception of a few classes, it wasn't difficult to meet the requirements for my degree plan at Whatcom.

3 College Senior

Student Body: There is a lot of diversity at Whatcom due to the international student exchange program.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think pursuing community education before transferring to a 4-year university is the smartest thing to do budget-wise. Plus, you are taking many standard introductory classes that are the same even at larger public universities, so it is better to get those out of the way at a lower cost.

3 College Senior

Facilities: The community college is a pretty campus with a newer science building. Some of the other facilities are in need of an update or remodel, but overall it is a quality campus.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: The program I am in is fairly standard and includes similar classes to what you would take at other community colleges.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: I am very impressed with Whatcom Community College and the quality of both professors and courses offered. The professors are very passionate and excited about providing community education, which creates a great learning environment.
