Off-Campus Housing: I love living off campus, it's a little more costly but its worth it

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It is so much better than living on campus. Unfortunately this prove large is denied to students until junior year...

Off-Campus Housing: Cost is better than dorms

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The school requires that freshmen and sophomores live on campus in either the dorms or in the apartments. You can get out of having to do so if you meet some of the requirements(like if you are over the age of 21,if your married, or something else i don't remember all of the ways you could get out of living on campus but there aren't many ways to get out of it). Then they also require you to buy a meal plan(this is mostly towards freshman but most all of the dorms don't have kitchens, only the apartments and one of the dorm complexes(that only sophomores and up can use the kitchens in) do have kitchens. No freshman is 'technically' aloud to use any of the kitchens on campus(that are in the above mentioned places). They do have decent food most days in the cafe, then we do have a sort of 'store' where you can buy some food/snacks. Then everyone gets basically kicked out unless you live in the apartments and pay an extra fee while going though a decent sized hassle with the school to let you stay over the breaks(winter break is the major on where they kick EVERYONE out beside if you are in the apartments have have gone through the above mentioned hassle). I dont know much about off campus housing as i am required to stay in the on campus housing at the moment but thats what its like for the on campus housing.

Off-Campus Housing: Gunnison is a pretty old town so there are a lot of run-down houses that are available to college students. The cost of living in Gunnison is very reasonable and affordable. In Crested Butte, the housing is hard to find for college students and the cost is pretty outrageous. If you live in Gunnison, you most likely have only a 5-10 minute walk unless you live on the outskirts of town. Parking is great, safety is great. Posters are posted by current off campus students looking for roommates but otherwise the school doesn't help that much.
