4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The night life is very much alive at western michigan university

3 College Junior

Nightlife: WMU to me is not really a party school but may be to some. Dont get me wrong they do have certain events or times of the year where its really live, but as far as clubs or bars they are just ok in my eyes. Usually you just have friends over and hang out! I dont think WMU is negative but cant quite say everything is positive when it comes to the party scene

4 College Senior

Nightlife: It's pretty nice to get out and about and walk the campus, I wouldn't do so alone. College students are really silly when it comes to the party scene. Be aware of your surroundings at all times because this is the time, cops are issuing citations like crazy

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Not much of a partier, but a lot of them are in fratville. Not much to do on the weekends other than party though.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Good places to go downtown and lots of house parties around campus to go to

Kalamazoo has a very active bar scene for students 21-and-up. Some of the best bars include The Grotto, Y-Bar, Shakespeare's Pub, the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange, Waldo's, University Roadhouse, Wayside West, Monaco Bay, Wild Bull, and The Union. There are often tons of students spread out all across the area looking to have a good time, and they find it, too. There are also local movie theaters and a number of restaurants that offer specials and discounts for students.

Nightlife at Western is something special. On the weekends, there are parties all across the area. Fraternity Village and other streets around the area are filled with outgoing party-goers. If you're under 21, there's still plenty to do. A lot of underage students like to hang out at Wild Bull (until 9 p.m., when underagers are no longer allowed to frequent the establishment). Plus, there are often parties on campus where under-21 students can socialize and mingle.
