3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: need a little more variety

2 people found this useful Report
3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There are a 6 dinning halls across campus and each one serves decent food.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Sometimes the food looks old like it has been sitting there a while. Usually there is something new everyday and each cafe has something different as well. The best is Bigelow Hall cafe. If you have dining dollars you can also stop by Sprau Tower, they have fruit, hot pretzels, pizza slices and much more quick foods for on the go.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I really like the food. I had the bronco gold meal plan for my first semester but then decided to try to save money for the next semester and so I switched to the 15 meal plan

2 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The food isn't healthy and they close the dining halls too early(especially on weekends) and there's nothing on campus that is open late on weekends. You don't get many Dining dollars and you can only use them. In campus cafes during the week.

Campus dining halls at Western Michigan are among the top dining halls in the state. There is a wide variety of options, catering to nearly every diet. The dining halls are buffet style, so you can always expect an assortment of options, such as a salad bar, a fruit bar, a wok, and dessert table; plus, these offerings are paired with daily entrées which can be seen in advance at

There are a number of meal plans available to students, such as Bronco Gold (unlimited), Bronco 20, Bronco 15, and Bronco 10, with the numbers representing the amount of meals a student is allotted per week. There are also meal plans available for commuters, some of which are numbered by visits per semester (such as the Commuter 100, Commuter 75, and Commuter 50). There are also dining halls located all over campus for convenience. Students are allotted dining dollars where students can purchase chips, pop or soda, pizza, and other goods.

Facts & Statistics

Freshman Meal Plan Required?
A freshman meal plan is recommended; however, it is not required. Depending on which of the dorms you live in, for instance, Valley I and Valley II, meal plans are strongly encouraged. However, some students in Valley III do not have meal plans, as there is not a cafeteria in that building.
