3 College Junior

Campus Dining: WMU offers a ton of meal options for on/off campus students. They have a wide variety of options in the cafeterias; however, the food is almost never good tasting or healthy for you. It's almost all processed or produced from a can.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The dinning is not very good and the hours suck I can never make it to dinner but that is also part of my schedual

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: I like it but it could be more restaurants on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: you will understand how great it is when you no longer have it

5 College Senior

Campus Dining: The main campus cafeterias have a lot to choose from between the 5 of them. The cafe's on the other campuses have a decent variety but without a meal plan it is expensive.

Campus dining halls at Western Michigan are among the top dining halls in the state. There is a wide variety of options, catering to nearly every diet. The dining halls are buffet style, so you can always expect an assortment of options, such as a salad bar, a fruit bar, a wok, and dessert table; plus, these offerings are paired with daily entrées which can be seen in advance at

There are a number of meal plans available to students, such as Bronco Gold (unlimited), Bronco 20, Bronco 15, and Bronco 10, with the numbers representing the amount of meals a student is allotted per week. There are also meal plans available for commuters, some of which are numbered by visits per semester (such as the Commuter 100, Commuter 75, and Commuter 50). There are also dining halls located all over campus for convenience. Students are allotted dining dollars where students can purchase chips, pop or soda, pizza, and other goods.

Facts & Statistics

Freshman Meal Plan Required?
A freshman meal plan is recommended; however, it is not required. Depending on which of the dorms you live in, for instance, Valley I and Valley II, meal plans are strongly encouraged. However, some students in Valley III do not have meal plans, as there is not a cafeteria in that building.
