Campus Strictness: Parking is the only issue you need to leave almost an hour before class starts to find a parking place and even then you may not find one after you pay 100.00 for a parking pass. To make matters worse you have to park somewhere your not allowed and then get a 50.00 parking ticket. they make a lot of money off parking.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They are very strict on certain areas.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The strictness does not really affect my performance. I am dedicated to school so I go to classes and obey the rules so I do not have a reason to get into any trouble as a result of the strictness

1 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They don't inform very well with parking passes..

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Campus strictness depends on the subject matter. If we're talking about visitation, then WKU is very lenient. If we're talking about underage drinking, then WKU is very strict!

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Overall, WKU's campus is average in terms of its strictness. There are visitation policies and policies on alcohol in the dorms (WKU is a dry campus and alcohol is not permitted in the dorms), but unless students make themselves very obvious, they aren't likely to get caught. RAs are generally very understanding because they are students just like you. The thing that they are fairly strict about is safety, though. Although the hours of visitation are pretty lenient, students must have an ID to be checked into the dorms. Some people find this annoying, but checking IDs prevents random people from running around the dorm.

The biggest thing that people get into trouble for is parking illegally. The campus is really strict about it, so students should make sure they are parked in the correct zone! A parking ticket is $50, so you don't want to take a chance.

Visitation Policies
Visitation policies vary by residence hall. Some allow 24-hour visitation, while others have different hours during the week and on the weekends when students are allowed to have male or female guests. Both the guest and the resident have to give their ID (WKU or driver's license) to the people at the front desk, and residents are required to keep their guest with them at all times.
