Campus Strictness: The is a zero tolerance policy for drinking on campus in public. The visitors policy is pretty lax.

Campus Strictness: Dorms are very strict when it comes to alcohol, if it is found in your room you must first pour it out, then write a letter to your parents, then take an alcohol class on campus. It doesnt matter if you are 21, you are not allowed to bring alcohol into the dorm. Parking on campus is strict, there are enforcers driving around campus all the time. If you do not have a pass for the area you are parked in you will automatically recieve a ticket. There is not enough parking on campus as it is and I think that they do their best to make sure everyone follows the rules. I think that visitation in dorms could be worked on a little, I understand that it is necessary to know who is in the building but I think requiring people to turn in a license and not accepting student IDs is a little much. I also think that not being allowed into the building unless you call the front desk and give a good explanation as to why you need in is ridiculous. If a student forgets their key or if you need to get into the meeting room but you dont live in that building, you cant get in. I also understand that visitation ends at midnight during the week but I think that we should be able to have people stay the night with permission, and I think that we should be able to check someone in who is under 18. There are students who are not 18 and cannot be checked into a dorm because they arent old enough and it gets frustrating sometimes.

Campus Strictness: Kind of spotty--I lived in a coed dorm last year and you could get away with pretty much anything as long as you didn't cause a commotion. BUT visitation is annoyingly strict in single gender dorms.

Campus cops are generally fine--more interested in making sure the driver is sober than punishing the drunk passengers. They generally just try to make sure everyone is getting home safe and not wreaking havoc.

A lot of my classes have surprisingly been strict on attendance requirements.

Campus Strictness: The campus can be very strict about some things, but lenient on others.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Overall, WKU's campus is average in terms of its strictness. There are visitation policies and policies on alcohol in the dorms (WKU is a dry campus and alcohol is not permitted in the dorms), but unless students make themselves very obvious, they aren't likely to get caught. RAs are generally very understanding because they are students just like you. The thing that they are fairly strict about is safety, though. Although the hours of visitation are pretty lenient, students must have an ID to be checked into the dorms. Some people find this annoying, but checking IDs prevents random people from running around the dorm.

The biggest thing that people get into trouble for is parking illegally. The campus is really strict about it, so students should make sure they are parked in the correct zone! A parking ticket is $50, so you don't want to take a chance.

Visitation Policies
Visitation policies vary by residence hall. Some allow 24-hour visitation, while others have different hours during the week and on the weekends when students are allowed to have male or female guests. Both the guest and the resident have to give their ID (WKU or driver's license) to the people at the front desk, and residents are required to keep their guest with them at all times.
