Career Services: Since I've yet to graduate I haven't really had much to do with the career center or alumni network, etc. WGU/WGU Texas is a relatively new school so it's not as established as universities that have had many, many, many years of graduates.

Online Courses: For me, going to school online is the only way I could get a degree. My situation is rather unique which is why I chose to finally pursue a degree in what I was interested in learning more about.

Student Body: Since this is a strictly online school, the "student body" is spread across the nation and even the world. Also, the student body comprises people of a wide range of ages, backgrounds, etc., etc. So this question really doesn't apply to WGU/WGU Texas.

Tuition & Financial Aid: In my experience I didn't find the financial aid process as friendly as I thought it would be. I did find help through the financial aid department but if felt like I was "pulling teeth" at times to get the help.

Campus Resources: Since WGU/WGU Texas is an online school there really isn't a physical campus where students go to take classes. There is an online library and other ways to reach other students but there isn't a physical student center that I'm aware of and other "campus activities" like with a traditional physical school.

Academic Flexibility: Since the curriculum is you study when it's best for you to do so, it's very, very flexible. You decided when you need/want to study. The best thing about attending WGU/WGU Texas is that because it's self-paced you can complete more than 12 CUs during a semester. You're not paying by the course but by the semester. Finish 12 courses in a semester start taking a new one without additional cost for that semester.

Academic Experience: The best thing about Western Governors University (or in my case Western Governors University Texas) is that it's self paced meaning if you want to do more than 12 CUs in a semester you're paying only for the semester and not by the course.

Academic Experience: You start off with a student mentor who follows you throughout your entire time at WGU/WGU Texas. For each course you take you also have at least one course mentor and with some courses you have more than two course mentors. It's usually easy to get ahold of either a course mentor or your student mentor. But if you have difficultly with a course mentor then I strongly suggest you go to your student mentor for help.

Student Body: I attend the online campus. I have very little real interaction with the student body other than occasional posts on a course message board.

Campus Resources: I attend the online campus of West Governor's University so I have never experienced any of the on campus resources.

Academic Experience: I love the IT program I am in. The instructors are top-notch, the materials and software are very good, and I like the pace.

Academic Experience: I like the fact that I can go at my own pace. I get a lot of support from my mentor and from the instructors.

Career Services: They have a very robust alumni network. They also have lots of opportunities to search for jobs.

Overall Experience: I was supported in changing my major twice. I knew that I had made mistakes when I went through the education program, and was informed that I would teach high school students. I saw my life spiraling before me, but it was all in my head. I ran! I do not want to be stuck in a class of high schoolers. So, I changed to marketing. As I went through that program, I saw that I was not cut out for the pressures of managing businesses that were hard-pressed to make lots of money. That was too stressful for me, and I was only contributing to the pockets of others. So, I was supported by WGU to change my major again. This time, I gave it much thought. I went into Health Informatics. I am somewhat of a loner, and being in an office managing computer information is exactly correct for me. But, the best part about it is that I am contributing to the safety and quality of care of patients. I am where I need to be, and after careful consideration, WGU allowed me into this highly respected, and hard-to-get-into-program. They are the best supporters I can ever have gotten.

Academic Flexibility: I am taking an online degree program, which makes balancing life incredibly easy. I am a single mother, a full-time worker, and a full-time college student. You would not believe the ease I have, and all of the stress I have removed out of my life.

Overall Experience: I am proud to be a student at WGU.

Overall Experience: There is always information on pursuing a career with the degree program one is enrolled in. For me to obtain the degree, once I have completed the classes, I still have to do an unpaid internship of 160 hours. That is doozy, but it will prepare me adequately.

Campus Resources: There is an online library, but I never use it. I just research topics online. The library seems confusing to use to me.

Online Courses: I have no problem taking online courses. When I am stuck, there is someone there to guide me to completion of my classes with success. Western Governors University is a quality school, and although some of the courses are very challenging, I get the help I need. Pathophysiology was the hardest class I have taken so far, and when I failed the exam twice, I sought help. They had me make a plan to successfully pass the third exam. I used pages and pages of a notebook in that plan, but I finally passed. It was like I was making a test for myself, and as I created that study plan, I could just imagine which types of information I needed to know to make it in the work world. As I did this, I finally had a light bulb come on. But, without the support of the course mentors, and the director of my degree program, I would probably have given up.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Affordable for quality education and career preparation.

Overall Experience: So far, getting enrolled was easy and didn't really take too long. Now to register for my classes and find the fin. aid I need.

Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: WGU is flexible in that you take all your classes online and only the ones you need.

4 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: Online is better, because I don't have to go to a classroom and can work at my own pace.
