4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: school has strict rules when it comes to drugs and alcohol which is a good thing

Health & Safety: The campus police are there when you need them. I usually see them patrolling the perimeter of the campus and on warmer nights they walk around campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Danbury is a city and tends to accomodate the city life needs. There are many chain resturants but at the same time there are also many family resturants to give variety to new people. There are a few student discounts but they are often only used by stores or resturants around the campus.

Athletics: Western Connecticut is a Division III school and does not gain the respect from much of the college students. Since the campus is also a split campus it makes it very hard to attend the sporting events which makes the fan support very small.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Danbury is a great city. The proximaty of the school is close to any amentity needed, but as far as social life it is very dull. Danbury is a great place to learn culture and a great place to find a job after college.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Western Connecticut is primarily a commuter school, but the housing facilties are great. Most of the buildings are extremely up to date and include spacious amounts of draw space and shelf space. Each building is extremely clean and provide minimum amentities.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: All of the residence halls are all co-ed, either by floor or section. The guys and girls to ratio are very close, making no difference between the two populations.

Greek Life: Greek life at my school is slowly developing. Since Western Connecticut is primarily a commuter school, many students do not seem to feel the need to be active within the school. To be apart of a Greek life means paying a charger per semester, going through a "Rush" and from there on you are apart of a group. The Greeks within my school do not have special housing like most other schools, but it may happen in the future.

Majors: There are no huge processes to get into the Psychology program within Western Connecticut. To be apart of the Psycholgy program a student must pass the Psychology 101 course with a B or above and continue to take the Psychology required classes with at least a C-. Aside from that we are required to take about 5 of the branch off classes. The Administration staff are very helpful and are always there to answer any questions. The staff and professors in my school really want to see students not only pass, but succeed.

Majors: By being apart of the Psychology program in my school it is very beneficial and the amount of access we have to us is incredible. There are many interships and volunteer opportunities available to us and clubs designed to help us succeed in our program.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: My school is very strict on the policies within the school. Whether it is an academic policy or a social life policy, each one is taken seriously and taken into great account for the safety of the students.

Drug Safety: Drugs on campus are basically invibile to the eye. It may be talked about but housing staff take huge leaps to enforce the drug policys. Every day, especially Thursday through Saturday, our Resident staff take precaution and mainly do bag checks to make sure that the drugs do not enter the buildings, especially dry buildings.

Diversity: Walking around campus you always see an aray of different ethinicities and people of different racial backgrounds. My school is extremely open to different beliefs and they make note of it by promoting them through clubs and activites. There are many clubs for everyone's politcal beliefs, religions and sexual orientation, like my schools Alliance club.

Majors: I am a Chemistry major. It is very hard. The workload is extremely hard! However, being a communications major, it is easier for those students to have more time to themselves. The class load is overwhelming at times.

Majors: Interships are offered at our school. However, all of the interships that are offered are for juniors and seniors.

Scholarships: The first year that I applied for financial aid at this school, I did not receive it until the end of the first semester. I had to pay half the tuition out-of-pocket, which was very hard for me. I had to get a loan from a bank. I was then refunded a quater of what I paid. My parents paid the loan off to the bank. However, I am still paying my parents back.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We have not had any serious threats on school. However, the police are there at all times for your convenience.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Students consume alcohol. However, they know their limitations, i.e. not coming to class drunk. Less than one percent of the school's population does drugs.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I have lived in Danbury, CT my whole life. I know all of the great deals and places to eat.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The cost of books is outrageously hign. You can get them for much cheaper on amazon.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: The workload for science majors is too much. Students should not be required to take all of the gen ed courses if one is a science major. The courses should be combined/integrated. For example, there can be a communications class where you also earn writing credits.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I've only seen sororities and fraternities advertise themselves in the student center. Many people surprisingly do not go there. It does not make a difference if you are a part of Greek life.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I've lived here my whole life. Even though I am used to being here everyday, I caouldn't imagine it any other way.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Transportation of all kinds is very close to the Midtown Campus, and still accessible from the Westside Campus.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Great music! Fun to go with friends.
