4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Older buildings have poor ac/heating and tend to be a little more worn down. Bucanan has the biggest rooms. Blue Ridge and Balsam are the newest so have the best amenities and location.

Campus Housing: On campus housing is being updated which is good howver this does cause hardship on incoming freshmen. it does cause a shortage when a freshman dorm is being updated. The newer dorms are better than the other capuses that I visited.

College Senior

Campus Housing: I've never lived in on-campus housing, so I can't really answer this question.

5 College Senior

Campus Housing: The campus is beautiful and no matter what kind of living environment you're looking for, WCU has a dorm for you.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The only reason housing is average is because there are some really great dorms and some absolutely terrifyingly horrible dorms. They balance out. Walker is unclean and lacks many essentials (kitchen, safe stairways, decent window, air conditioning). Scott has had some useful renovations, but few that cover the essentials (like bathrooms). I'm not sure about Albright/Benton, because they've renovated since I last saw them. The best dorms are Balsam (Honors) and Blue Ridge (Honors and Overflow). You pay a ton to stay there, but you are more likely to get a private. The kitchen, common rooms, and laundry facilities are much better than other dorms. The downside, though, is the walls. They are paper thin. You can't stick anything to them without creating a hole. Also, be prepared to hear every single sound your neighbors (left, right, above, and below) make.

If you are not in a dorm that allows you to control the temperature, be prepared to freeze in fall, sweat in winter, and melt in spring. They turn on the heat way too late, creating icy floors. Then, they leave it on way too long, forcing everyone to abandon clothing. Furthermore, they keep the heat way too high at all times. I had to keep my summer clothes around through the winter just for my time in the dorms.
