3 College Freshman

Transportation: Transportation is needed to live on campus. While Walmart and other stores are within walking distances during the summer when it is hot or during the winter when it is cold a car is a necessity and bumming off a friend can get old quick.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus is pretty strict about things, but sometimes it seems to let things go and then at other times they really put the hammer down so to speak.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The campus is safe and the school is set in the middle of a relaxed, small town.

Athletics: I feel since we are a small school there are lots of students at WWWC involved in sports. We all support one another and the new workout facilities are great! I expereinced an injury and the coaches and trainers were really supportive and great at getting me back up and running again. It's great to see professors at sporting events too! It shows they care not only about academics but the social aspects of their students as well.

Off-Campus Dining: For people that don't have a car, it is pretty difficult to walk to any of the restaurants, except the ones on Main Street. There is a McDonald's, Burger King, Sheetz, and Arby's near Walmart, but that is a 20 minute walk. However, if you have a car, the selection is better. There are several Mexican restaurants, and other general restaurants. McDonald's gives a discount if you show them your WVWC school ID.

Local Atmosphere: Buckhannon is a very small town with not much to do. To have fun most people either drive up to Morgantown or go to frat parties on the weekends. However, Buckhannon feels safe enough to walk through. Also, there is a Walmart and several grocery stores so shopping is never a problem.

1 College Freshman

Parking: There isn't a lot. If you don't live on campus you have to park on the street.

1 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I hate the school food it always makes me sick so I don't eat it.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is not much in this town to eat or to go hang out. Its a small town one nice restaurant, one ok burger place and two or three Chinese places. Everything is in Clarksburg but that's a drive.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are nice. Though they have their problems, some of the rooms are only big enough for two people to live in. Things get crazy with your roommate if your in your room all the time with such little space. There is a lot of outlets though and you can have surge protectors if those aren't enough. Some times the rooms don't have very good wifi in them though and that can tend to be a problem. I have had many problems with my room because of the fact of mold and non working heating and air systems. My roommates have become sick and so have I because of this problem.

1 College Freshman

Computers: There is only 4 computers at the school open for the students to use. The learning center has computers but only to work on tests and things of that sort.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The safety at this school has been iffy my roommates and I have had some unsafe moments here and not much has been done to make it any better. I do not feel comfortable going out of my room sometimes without a friends.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: There is a range of scholarships but not many that a lot of people have to choose from. It is mainly for students who have a Methodist back round or are looking into becoming a minister. If you are a student coming to this school and not involved with sports you may have to find other scholarships not from the school.

Greek Life: Greek life is extremely important at Wesleyan. Most students (I've heard about 2/3) are Greek. The fraternities and sororities contribute to the campus community through philanthropy as well as social activities. I can't imagine Wesleyan without the Greek system. One downside to Greek life at Wesleyan is that sororities aren't allowed to have houses. I think sorority houses would be a positive addition for Greek life. Another problem is negative attitudes between Greek organizations as well has a negative attitude toward Greeks from some non-Greeks.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Almost everything is offered here just have to dig

3 College Freshman

Academics: Being a nursing major it is very time consuming and stressful. But in my opinion, with having determination in becoming a nurse helps me motivate myself to do the best of my ability. Although these four years are difficult, once I graduate I will be a happy, successful nurse.

5 College Freshman

Academics: In coming to WVWC i was worried about the work load with being a nursing major. But with the amazing teaching and the one on one attention, I've come to be a successful freshmen student with a GPA of 3.4. With out the one on one attention I wouldn't have been as successful in the classes im currently attending. The professors conducting the class has a great impact on the amount of knowledge the students take in, and professors here at WVWC does a great job at it!

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am happy with my major, I plan on going on to Graduate school to become a PA. I feel confident that my school will prepare me.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Study hard, earn good grades in high school. Application is relatively easy, but you have to be hard working and goal oriented to make it.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The school had a good system for financial aid that did not require much additional effort. I know many people that receive assistance through on campus jobs and are satisfied with the system.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I very much enjoy being in the Physics department at West Virginia Wesleyan College. The professors are educated in the subjects they teach and are very personable in attempting to personally know each of their students and their needs. I have received a great amount of assistance in applying for an internship opportunity and am very satisfied with my experience here.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: There are many different scholarships available for substantial amounts of money.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love living in a dorm! My roommate and I are very close, and I like being able to walk to my friends rooms. I also like being close to the guys' dorm, because a lot of my friends live their and our buildings are about 15 feet apart. It is also nice that I am so close to almost all of the buildings that I have classes in. However, girls do not keep the community bathrooms very clean.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs do not have a huge influence on campus, but I know people who smoke marijuana and RAs that have to take care of marijuana and weed related incidents in their halls. However, I do not really know many people that let it get in way of their education.

1 College Freshman

Transportation: I don't know of any buses that come into town, but if you really need to go somewhere, you are bound to find someone willing to drive, or you can just walk. Nothing in town is all that far. And campus is tiny. No need to drive across whatsoever.
