The dormitories on campus at WVU are in great shape, and they are excellent places for students to live. Most of the dorms have had recent renovations, including Towers. The University has done a great job maintaining these buildings to provide a good living environment for its students. The rooms are decent sizes with new bed frames, desks, and dressers provided for the students. The carpets and walls are also in good condition and provide an all around good feel to the dorms. Every room is wired for cable TV and Internet. Some suites may come with kitchen areas and bathrooms, but these options are not available in regular dorm rooms. Every dorm is also located within a five-minute walk from a dining hall, with most dorms having dining halls located somewhere inside the building. Most of the dorms are located on Downtown Campus, but easy transportation is available to students living on Evansdale Campus.

Dorm security is very good, but it can sometimes be an issue of annoyance with the students. Students are required to present an ID after 9 p.m. in most dorms and cannot sign in a guest after midnight on the weekends. Students also are not permitted to sign in a guest of the opposite sex after midnight. Students are only guaranteed housing in a campus dorm for freshman year. After that, they must go through University Housing and fill out the proper applications in hopes of receiving a dorm room for the following year. Nice dorms to try for in later years are Stalnaker, Arnold Apartments, and Pierpont Apartments.

Did You Know?
Students can stay on campus for as long as they would like, but WVU does not offer guaranteed housing after freshman year. Most students move off campus after their first or second year to be more independent.
