Campus Dining: if you eat at the cafe in your dorm, there are not many options

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I find that the school is very lenient in alot of areas thus being ranked the #1 party school in the US for a couple years in a row.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I dont go out much but when i do there are tons of parties and bars to head to. Transportation isnt an issue for there is a lot of public transportation free to students.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of restaurants near by but because we live in a big college town, they dont provide student disscounts. The cost is average.

1 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I didnt qualify for financial aid so school is very pricey.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: the Greeks think they run the place just because they throw frequent parties and have tons of fake friends.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Living in the dorm is where alcohol/drugs were strict. Now the campus is tobacco free, so that is strict. But that is great. Drugs are bad.

1 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I hate campus food/cafe choices. Dining hall locations were very inconvenient and the food tasted old and nasty.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is somewhat expensive but anywhere nice to live can be pricey. Great location of off-campus housing is a plus.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My overall experience is good but I am more of a homebody and just like to hang out at home concentrating on my studies.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone is an individual but with this university there are two types of students. The party student or the student. The party student goes out often while the student hardly goes out.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Sometimes it is necessary to drive somewhere but with the outrageous hourly rates and the lack of spots, sometimes it is nearly impossible.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs and Alcohol are very much noticeable but most students stay away if they don't want anything to do with it

2 College Sophomore

Weather: When we get snow, classes aren't canceled. So walking a mile or two in snow is very unpleasant.

Athletics: Our school is in the big 12 conference and while our football team is not the best our women's soccer won their conference game, mens soccer does really well as well. Our men's basketball team does extremely well and so do the woman. Every sport here is very good.

Health & Safety: The student health center is great, your tuition covers your appointments and you just need to pay fifteen dollars. You can tell that the doctors and nurses love working with the students. I feel safe running at ten at night alone.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
