Campus Dining: Meal Plan – The meal plan at West Virginia University is very flexible. It can be used in the dining halls and the fast food restaurents around campus. The food is very good and varied.

Drug Safety: The drug scene is interesting at WVU. The drug scene around you really depends on who you hang out with. Alcohol and pot are everywhere you go. The more illicit drugs are hard to find, but they are there. Greek Life opens up more options.

Guys & Girls: Full of People from New Jersey – West Virginia University is full of boys and girls from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and mostly New Jersey. But the girls are really attractive and like to have fun.

Off-Campus Housing: Good If You Do Your Homework – There are a lot of bad landlords in this town. Make sure you go to the landlord rating website before you rent anywhere http://wvulandlords.com

Campus Housing: Never had a problem while On-campus. They only let you stay 1 year.

Overall Experience: The atmosphere is very inviting and fun. The classes and students are great as well. You'll never feel alone with such a huge campus full of tons of people.

5 College Senior

Transportation: The PRT takes you from each campus and is free for students. Buses are free for students. All the bases are covered if you don't have a car. Walking is probably what you'll be doing most of the time.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Restrictions With Overnight Guests – With most of the dorms you can't have a member of the opposite sex stay overnight and they can be somewhat strict about it.

Health & Safety: Morgantown Living – West Virginia University has a very safe atmosphere coming from it's campus. I have lived in Morgantown all my life and although there are always the normal crimes associated with any city, you feel safe. Any wise person can avoid any kind of trouble by knowing where not to be at certain hours of the night. Take high street, for example, never go downtown on a weekend after mid-night. Follow certain safety rules and Morgantown is wonderful.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: There is not enough parking for people who live on campus. They students who live in apartment with cars have spots to park everyday but there is limited parking for the students who live in dorms and have cars.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: Computer Labs – The computer labs are great. They have the latest mac book computers. They run very well and the network reliablity is wonderful. I dont know what I would do without them.

5 College Freshman

Weather: So far the only thing I have experienced is Fall and that has been awsome. The colors of the trees against the mountains and the fog in the morning is ver picturesque

Diversity: Not Very Diverse – WVU is about as Diverse as the United States as a whole. There are african Americans, Asians, and Latinos, but not in huge numbers. For the most part everyone gets along well. There are many different churches and I assume there is a mosque, because is a good amount of islamic students. The majority of students are white, but I can't say I have encountered any ignorant rednecks. I am not saying they don't exist, ignorant people are everywhere.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Don't Judge a Book by It's Cover – Most of the upperclassmen live in apartments. The don't look very nice on the outside for the most part, but once you get inside and give it that homey touch they can be very nice. The apartments are much cheaper than living in the dorms, but if you find one in town, parking could be a problem if you have a car.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: This school is not strict. I have been at crazy parties where the cops just drive by, and then give someone a ticket for speeding, parking, etc. If the cops do come, they are nice and understanding. However, if you are rude and doing something wrong, they can bring you to jail, which is 2 hours away and from what I hear absolutely miserable.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: You will never have a bad time at WVU. Ever. It's easy to drink underage, if you're a girl the parties are free and always welcome to new people. There is no "invite only" parties. There are blocks and blocks of parties, plenty of bars, over 21 and under, and plenty of opportunities for fun. If you are not having a good time here, then you must be doing something very wrong.

Campus Housing: Housing isn't TERRIBLE, but it's not good either. You may come and go whenever you'd like, but they are strict. After quiet hours, RA's will complain and write you up if you're making remotely anything close to noise. Many people are caught drinking in their dorm and given at the very least 10 hours of community service. The guest policy is terrible. If you do not live in the residence hall, you must be signed in past 9 by someone that lives there of the same sex as you. The latest you can sign someone in is 12 to avoid you bringing "guests back to your room". If you want to sign your boyfriend or girlfriend in you must find a boy or girl to do it, because those of the opposite sex cannot. The food is terrible. If you live on the evansdale campus, good luck getting to your classes or downtown in general. Living downtown will make your live 20x easier, however after freshman year you will not and probably cannot live in a dorm, so unless you get a house you'll have to get an apartment, most of them being very far from campus. If you chose to dorm downtown, live in boreman! (or dadisman if you can get in, but freshman usually can't stay there). Boreman has the most convenient location and the best food.

Weather: WVU is very spread out and has three different sections of the main campus. However, the PRT provides shelter/transportation and the bus stops are very close to the dorms. Weather usually is not an issue.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Parking on campus usually requires a permit. If you are lucky enough to find a meter, 50 cents will get you one hour. WVU has the PRT which is much more convienient than driving, but if you live out of walking distance there are parking garages near the PRT stations. Parking permits average around $300.

Diversity: Mostly Caucasian – The student's at WVU are mostly caucasian, but there are a lot of countries represented by exchange students.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: Relatively Good Food – There are a variety of places to eat at WVU, but if you don't have a meal plan the only place you can go is the MountainLair. The dorm cafeterias offer a nice variety of foods if you do have a meal plan.

Health & Safety: Nice Campus – WVU is nice sized school with a lot of partying. However, I have never felt unsafe at a party. Stay away from the people who seem sketchy and you'll be fine.

Overall Experience: So far, here at WVU, the people are not very friendly and are all about themselves. The academic program is so-so, the workload is rather extensive. Overall, it's not so bad. However, it isn't amazing either.

Guys & Girls: The guys at WVU are conceited and arrogant. The girls are insecure and not modest about their appearance. On average, their looks would rate at about a D, since they are not exactly pleasing to the eye. Their attitudes are poor and not academically focused, and they all dress like bums.

Local Atmosphere: West Virginia University is a gorgeous place to be. The campus is divided into two campuses, considering it's large population of approximently 28,000 students. Downtown Morgantown is a beautiful, relaxing place full of fabulous resturaunts and charming little places to shop at. The Evansdale campus consists of majority engineering and medical majors, however it also has the creative arts center and other art and agricultural buildings. There is always something going on here, whether it be a sports event or something else. Pittsburgh is only an hour north, so you can visit the city as often as you'd like. WVU is a very safe school, one of the top ten safest schools in the nation. Crime rate is often at a minimum. The locals however truly do not enjoy the company of the students, however, they are quite tolerable.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
