Facilities: The Rec Center at WVU in Morgantown is very well organized and presentable. I enjoy working out there and being able to have fun participating in other activities the Rec Center offers, e.g. rock climbing.

Guys & Girls: Guys Are Picky – The guys at WVU are pretty hot for the majority of them. Most of them are the typical frat boys, stuck up, nice bodies and looking for one thing. BUT you can come across a few sexy sweethearts, just have to look in the right place!

Campus Dining: Same Thing Every Week – Although the food is pretty good, it does get annoying to eat the same thing every week. Every once in a while, they will change it up but it's usually something small like changing from fries to green beans. They need to change the soup a little more often and they put way too much sauce on the pizza. But on the other hand, looking back on living in the dorms, I miss having someone cook for me!

Health & Safety: Relatively Safe – Every building, dorm, and close to every street has an emergency alert button. It is unusual to not see cops checking out every street, especially at night time. When living in the dorms, campus police come in and give you the oppurtunity to have your name engraved into your valuable belongings. Police are there within minutes of a call. They are very concerned with the students well being on the campus. They work hard to make sure students are safe.

Overall Experience: Love Being a Mountaineer – Never expected to enjoy a place as much as I have at West Virginia University. Did my undergraduate work here and now enrolled in their DPT program so I will have three more years at West Virginia University. Can't imagine being anywhere else.

Weather: Climate Not to Bad – Summer can be hot and winter some snow but it usually doesn't last to long.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Great Food in Mo-Town – Lots of places to eat from chain restaurants to nice places in the downtown area.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Non- Greek – I don't know much about greek life. I used to live in the dorm on frat row and they were noisey durring the day adn sometimes at night but it wasn't that bad. I don't spend much time downtown where the greek life is. Its great to be apart of greek life at WVU but at the same time, you don't have to be a greek member to feel like you belong at WVU

Off-Campus Housing: I live at the District and the district has a bus system that transports their student to the three different campuses. Weekends the bus runs down town until the clubs close to prevent drunk driving and if enough students ask the buss will run down on a week night.

Computers: The Computer systems at WVU are average and there is always a computer for you, should you need one, the only thing I have found that is troublesome is the printing situation. The printers themselves work fine. I transfered from another school adn as part of the student fees, they credited you 20 dollars in printing. I came from a small state school that is half the price of WVU, so its hard for me when I have to shell out cash everytime I need to print something. A lot of the time I am in a hurry and need to print some scores but instead of just being able to print them out, there is this whole process. I just feel like they have so much of my money all ready, can't they just give us some number of pages?

Campus Strictness: Great Party School – The police are pretty lenient, and when parties are broken up, the cops usually just ask everyone to leave, as opposed to writing out dozens of citations. Parties are pretty rarely busted, and fraternity row is virtually left alone.

Facilities: The facilities at West Virginia University are constantly being updated and renovated. Our library is six stories, with designated reading and silent rooms. The athletic center is sprawling, with three floors, dozens of classes offered each week, two indoor pools, and a track. Our Mountainlair (Student Union) is really modern, with fast food restaurants, study rooms, a bowling alley, and a movie theater, showing free movies each week.

Academics: Not the Reputation – West Virginia University has a pretty severe reputation for being a party school. We were in fact named the second largest party school in the country, by Playboy Magazine. While it is a large school with a great football team, academics are often overlooked. For example, we have the Eleventh Best Student Newspaper in the country, and one of the top hundred law programs nationwide, as well. We have guest lecturers from all over the country, and more study abroad opportunities than I realized were possible. I have met so many great professors and students within the past year.

Transportation: Every set of apartments and all roads have a bus that runs by at least every twenty minutes if not more often.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: WVU has many transfer students from colleges all over the world. I have many friends who are asian, african american or hispanic. WVU is a great school to go to if you are looking for camaraderie, all students are always cheering for the home team no matter what race.

Campus Housing: On Campus Living – Dorming at WVU is very convenient, they placed all dorms in key positions so it's easy for the freshmen to get to class. I think this is essential for first years. However, after freshmen year finding suitable housing is very hard and once found is costly!

Facilities: Everyone that lives around or goes to WVU is and will always be a mountaineer. We are truly differnt from other school showing our pride whenever and everywhere we can!!! Lets GOOOOOOOOOOO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!

Parking: Parking at WVU has to be one of its biggest flaws. If you do decided to park you have to always pay a meter or the parking garage fee, if you can even find a spot in the first place. There is so many people and no where for their cars to go. Not only that, but you better make sure you arent parked somewhere you shouldnt be because towing is strickly enforced!!!

Local Atmosphere: Morgantown Atmosphere – In morgantown WV, there are many things to do it is crowded full of people who all love WVU. It is also a place however that you can get away from all this and go out to hike and explore on all of the wonderful west virgina territory.

Facilities: Family Feeling – Whether it's the sports teams or simply being an alumnus, you feel deeply connected to WVU.

Overall Experience: Sports are awesome, activities and parties are awesome, but academics can leave some to be desired, but it's all what you make of it. Born and raised West Virginian - WVU is the place to go.

Drug Safety: They're There – Drugs are there if you want to get into that stuff. Most people stick to alcohol though.

Nightlife: When the Street Lights Turn, the Students Come Out to Play – No matter where you look there is always a club, party or nightlife happening in Morgantown. The clubs scenes are available to everyone and the security guards will guard you. Parties line up and down the streets and music is always blasting. If you are not into the party scene, WVU offers WVUp all night which host numerous activities and movies.Transportation is always available for the night owls.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: If you looking for a school that has huge team spirit, WVU is the college to go to. Not only does the school promote school spirit but the whole state of West Virginia cheers on the Mountaineers. WVU has great trainers and coaches. Even students get involved in helping the team improve each year. Going to any sports team game is a great to learn more about the school and meet new people.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Tech in the College World – AT WVU the computers labs were readily available to any student who wished to use them. My English teacher took us to the computer multiple times in order to do some research. Most people had their own computers and used WiFi to access the internet. In some places the WiFi is not so good but most of the time the internet was fast. It helps to have your own computer and printer, it will save you time and money.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
