Academics: It's All Good – Most of the professors are nice and willing to help and explain something if you don't understand

Overall Experience: wvu is honestly the best. you meet the greatest people, the town is beautiful, professors are helpful, many major options, and the social life aspect is out of this world. the football games and tailgates are so much fun, you will see thousands of people of all ages getting hammered and having the time of their life. the atmosphere of this town is amazing. you will here the "ASS****" "LETS GO! MOUNTAINEERS!" and "EAT S*** PITT" chants all day, everyday, for your entire stay here. there is always something to do (any day/night of the week), classes arent bad, and the expierence is something i will never forget. i wouldnt trade this school for the world. ps. everyone thats visited here that i know of said it was the best time they have ever had and theyve never experienced or heard of any town like morgantown.

Campus Housing: Good as a Freshman – its great living on campus as a freshman because you meet alot of people (usually depending on where you live) pierpont, lincon and fieldcrest are too far away from campus so if you plan on having a social life DO NOT live there! also, stalnaker is great location with a good dining hall but not a great place to live to meet people. towers, boreman and arnold are the ideal place to live as a freshman. if you live in the dorms after freshman year, typically your a little weird or dont party because by the end of freshman year youll be sick of getting caught drinking in your room, fire drills, signing in/guests in etc

Campus Dining: dining halls are well spread out and its easy to eat in the lair if you have a meal plan as well. the best dining halls are stalnaker summit and arnold and the worst is towers even though its the biggest.

Campus Strictness: Campus isn't strict at all, but we really don't mind.

Athletics: Let's Go.. .. Mountaineers! WVU is perfect when it comes to athletics.

Campus Dining: Pretty Good – It's college. No dining is perfect, but we're surviving with little complaining.

Computers: there aren't many computers here to just jump on at any time, but there is wifi almost everywhere on campus. I would definitely recommend bringing everything you got from laptop to desk computer because a lot of homework and research will happen there. The wifi isn't that great, but it gets you by. Also, BRING A PRINTER.

Drug Safety: Considered Party School – West Virginia is considered a party school to most of the students here. There are students out every night of the week drinking and going to bars. There is not as much drug use that shows as much as alcohol, except smoking.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Need New Options – Although there are many places to eat, it is all the same. Each dining hall should have different things each day.Students should also be able to go whenever they want not just once at certain times each day.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Always Protected – All over campus there are always security, especially at night and around the dorms. I always feel safe walking around, even if its just with another one of my girl friends. As long as you are being safe, you will never have a problem.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The people set the school apart from other schools. The school spirit is definitely there! At any point during the day or night you can scream "Lets Go" and at least five people will reply with "Mountaineers". Its a fun and active campus.

Campus Housing: Campus Life – Towers are the older dorms, but I love the people there! The honors hall is new, but the people either stay in all the time and study or they party a lot. The campus life is very lively, all week long. The people are nice and its easy to find something to do at night. Its fairly inexpensive, it just depends on what you do and where you go. Housing on campus and apartments fill up fast! SO don't wait to fill out the housing application or put in a deposit because you can be stuck with no place to stay.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Computer Access – The computers are great, there are macs and PC's so you can choose which ever you like. The printing is cheap but it also helps to have your own just in case the printers are not working or it the library is packed. The wireless is great! It is easy to connect to the internet, the connection is also fairly fast.

Scholarships: The financial aid office exists and can be contacted for scholarships and aids, but they don't come to you. You have to make an extra effort to get something out of them. I have been offered loans but nothing great.

3 College Junior

Facilities: School Spirit – The things that set our school apart from other schools is our pride and spirit in our team and state. Witnessing a game day in Morgantown is a must see experience. Our school has a competitive fire that no school can match.

Campus Housing: On Campus Life – Living on campus has its ups and downs. For example, its easy to move around to different locations on campus, but the food is mediocre in the dorms cafeterias

College Student

Transportation: Convenience and Long=Distance – The college provides transportation to airport or bus for the holidays. You can walk or call a cab to go to the stores. The campus is located right in the middle of town. Getting where you need to be is not a problem.

College Student

Academics: Pre. Vet. I'm a freshman at Potomac State College studing Pre.Vet. I chose this college to start my studies because its a small campus and I felt I would be able to get to know my professors on a personal level. So far all of my instructors are very helpful and show they want to help me reach my goal in life to become a veterinary.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Great School – WVU is a very enjoyable place to go to school. Everyone here is a true mountaineer with pride for their school.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It is rather difficult to find a genuine, decent landlord that isn't just money hungry. Apartment cost is mildly expensive, pending upon the amenities it offers. However, there are lots of apartments to choose from. Most apartments are available in the Evansdale campus. Apartments downtown get taken quickly.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Over Average – There are multiple places to eat out on the Downtown Campus, as well as the Evansdale Campus. The Towers dorms have a wide variety of food and its quality is good also.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drinking School with a Football Problem – Alcohol with weed on the side.... and you don't have to dig too far to find harder drugs like shrooms, molly, E, cocaine. but I'm sure theres more too. However those that do harder drugs do it behind closed doors and won't pressure you. There is also a small but firm minority of people that don't do anything.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Big Greek Community – There are a endless number of sororities and fraternities at West Virginia University. Fraternity and Sorority housing is either right by or close to campus. They sponsor a lot of activities and help do a great deal of community service around town.

Campus Housing: The Dorms Are Nice – I don't live at the dorms but a lot of the freshmen dorms had trouble with heating when winter hit. From what I've heard they are over all pretty good dorms and they are right on campus so you're never too far from class.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
