Health & Safety: The atmosphere is great and there are always people around so I never feel at risk. There are always cops around and there are places to go if you are in trouble.

Campus Housing: A couple of dorms do not have air conditioning. The newer dorms are really nice. The farthest dorms are only a 10 minute walk to class. All of the dorms are close to dining halls.

Weather: Can be very windy and cold. Hot in summer, snow in winter!

Health & Safety: Its fine and I'm really happy that the policemen are doing a great job and every one is looking after each other to keep maximum safety.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Its very convenient, safe and to cut it all short it is makes you feel at home.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The transportation services is convenient and very cheap. So it allows almost every mountaineer to board.

4 College Freshman

Majors: There are so many different types of majors to choose from. It's nice to have different options to explore if you are unsure about a major.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There are a lot of things to do, but there is also a lot of traffic.

Diversity: The diversity at WVU is very scarce. Most people are white, but there are also alot of Italians from New Jersey. Because of the state that it's in there is a very low percent of ethnic diversity

Scholarships: The scholarship office notifies you if you are eligible for a scholarship. I get a few thousand a year for just my GPA in highschool.

Greek Life: Greek life is great. It's all about social acceptance and having a good time. I have a few friends that have gone Greek and I have been to a few Greek houses for events. Personally I chose not to go Greek because it really is for a specific type of person.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Lots of computers, and laptops are avaliable when computers are not.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Transportation is good, but can be unreliable at times.

5 College Freshman

Nightlife: There is always something to do on any given night of the week. Parties are easy to find but there's always the club or bar scene on the weekends. Cellar is my favorite club to go to.

2 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Towers has the worst food on campus by far. I often go to Summit or Boreman Bistro to eat. Boreman offers to go boxes which makes for a quick, easy meal.

Athletics: School spirit is a huge part of student life here at WVU. Whether our team is winning or losing, we are always there supporting them. Football is definitely the most popular sport even though our team is having a rough adjustment to the Big 12 conference this year.

4 College Junior

Diversity: I feel that WVU is very diverse and accepting of other cultures, races, political beliefs, and sexual orientation. They are teachers from all over the world teaching. There is a lot of exchange students and people seem to be very accepting and respectful. There is tutoring centers to help students if they are having problems in a class and this could be very helpful for exchange students. Overall, I feel that WVU is a great school.

Campus Strictness: WVU is very strict about underage drinking. This past year, WVU has been implementing stricter rules regarding drinking and other issues that are involved when drinking. They are trying to make people realize that you don't have to drink to have a good time.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: The financial aid department at WVU has been helpful. If I have questions they are very nice and easy to talk with. To make sure you get all of the financial help that's available you need to have your FAFSA completed by March 1st.

Transportation: The buses are convenient and reliable, and there is also the PRT which can shuttle you around between campuses. In the instance that you have to drive, parking is VERY hard to find and the majority of it near campus are lots where you pay to park.

Facilities: Some things that make WVU unique is the student body for one, a lot of didn't types of people go here. Also one big thing is being voted number on party school by the Princeton Review again this year.

4 College Freshman

Majors: They are first come first to get in a class so you have to get your requests in early. They usually give you a start time and that is when everybody trys to get the classes they need before they are full.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: There are plenty of different people here, you can walk down the road and in a time span of two minutes you will hear several different languages being spoken. It is a very colorful scene.

Nightlife: I hear a lot about what goes on and i hear that it is pretty fun but I don't go out often. There are clubs and parties somewhere every night around here.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I've received some financial aid but there aren't as many helping hands to assist in finishing paying the rest of the money. If you don't come to school with the money, it seems like you won't end the year with the money. I suggest trying really hard before the year starts to get financial aid.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
