Facilities: Some things that make WVU unique is the student body for one, a lot of didn't types of people go here. Also one big thing is being voted number on party school by the Princeton Review again this year.

4 College Freshman

Majors: They are first come first to get in a class so you have to get your requests in early. They usually give you a start time and that is when everybody trys to get the classes they need before they are full.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: There are plenty of different people here, you can walk down the road and in a time span of two minutes you will hear several different languages being spoken. It is a very colorful scene.

Nightlife: I hear a lot about what goes on and i hear that it is pretty fun but I don't go out often. There are clubs and parties somewhere every night around here.

Scholarships: I've received some financial aid but there aren't as many helping hands to assist in finishing paying the rest of the money. If you don't come to school with the money, it seems like you won't end the year with the money. I suggest trying really hard before the year starts to get financial aid.

Greek Life: Non-greeks and Greeks do not dislike each other, but Greek life is very prominent here. Keep in mind, it is very very expensive to be a part of a sorority or a fraternity for the most part. The Frats here throw large parties, but if you are a girl be careful. A lot of roofying occurs. If you don't want to go to Greek parties however, there are plenty of other options such as house parties or clubs. I know a lot of girls and guys that really enjoy their frats/sororities. They really feel like they are part of something and make a lot of friends. They're really busy now though.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: You're parents can't make much money if you want to receive financial aid or work study, but if you are in state it is really easy to get scholarships as long as you make As and Bs.

Health & Safety: The hospital is good and the opportunities available for students as far as mental health and STD testing and things of that nature are readily available, but the hospital is really far from Downtown. Safety-wise, I do not always feel safe here. The town is really dangerous at night if you are a girl and walking alone. I have seen way too many intoxicated girls walking alone. Also there is a lot of roofie use here. Walk in pairs AT LEAST

Academics: We get a bad rep on some websites, but don't let that fool you. The classes are very competitive and expect to study.

Guys & Girls: Social life at WVU is second to none. Everyone is out and about on the weekends and there are plenty of cool people.

Parking: University parking is affordable, but very inconvenient. If you want convenience be ready to pay for it. With that being said, the public transportation here is good and you don't really need a car.

Greek Life: The greek life has a good reputation in creating excellent social networks for students, increasing awareness of philanthropies around campus, and raising money to help organizations. I am giving them an A- because the mentality of some greek members speaks loud and clear in a negative way for their fellow members.

Parking: it is so hard to park here.. if you are trying to have guests... forget it.. there is hardly any guest parking

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: they are pretty good about how to stay safe and how to get out of a bad suituation

4 College Senior

Computers: Our tech department does really well at keeping the university up to date. each year there are new computers brought in to campus buildings.

5 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Morgantown is a city steeped in tradition, and traditions here include football, pepperoni rolls, and sleepless nights. many restaraunts crowd the downtown area, as well as two large shopping centers within 5 miles of the campus. the locals of morgantown have grown accustomed to the students, however it took a long time before that happened.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: The people that work in Financial Aid offices know what they are doing. but they are less than friendly. They do not really lose items, however there are some scholarships that disappear.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: They are pretty involved in the atmosphere. However not necessarily directly. Many of our events such as homecoming have a lot to do with Greeks, but plenty of things going on that don't involve them at all. It's a big campus. I would say the Greek members are extremely snobby and cliquey. We also have a few honors society coed fraternity's to rush that aren't technically Greek but resemble them for the most part.

Campus Dining: Talking strictly on campus food its not horrible but it could be better. The food is definitely good. The problem i had was they forced you to buy a meal plan. Even if you don't use all of your meals you still pay for them because the plans are set rates and numbers per week and you pay upfront. There also on set specific time periods during the day. The moutainlair has good options for food and you can use meal plans and mounty bounty. You can also get off campus meal plans.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It has been quite complicated for me but a lot of it is also my fault.

4 College Junior

Computers: The computers are pretty good. You can even check out a laptop while you're in the library if you want to. Computers have big screens, very reliable, and plenty of them. A lot of people have their own computer by choice but its not completely necessary, just useful. This is based off of the downtown library.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Great programs and classes, as long as you act like a mature adult you can have fun and get a great education!!

4 College Senior

Academics: I am a psychology major and at WVU the psyc program is awesome! lots of interesting areas for you to study! always talk to the faculty and the grad students about your future plans they always give great advice.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: No parking, and if you park illegally you will be towed right away. Also it is on a mountain so make sure you have an emergency brake.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The police aren't too strict, but if your caught doing something wrong there are serious consequences.

Overall, students have made it pretty clear that they are really enjoying their time at WVU. Looking back through this book, it can be seen that WVU has garnered many high grades for subjects such as social scene, academics, and athletics. It is clear that there are many things the school excels in. The aforementioned are huge parts of campus life at WVU, and the students have said nothing but good things about them. While there were many high grades, there were a few grades that show the University could still improve in certain areas. It is clear that the campus dining services are not doing a great job pleasing the students, nor is the parking situation on campus. Considering these are two pretty important things on a college campus, the University should quickly take the right steps to move those two issues into a positive direction.

The attitude at WVU seems pretty split between academics and social events. While most students attend WVU with the expectation of a great education, there are a select few who come to WVU because of the potential party scene. Either way, WVU offers something for each side. With each incoming class comes the promise to improve upon faults and provide students with the best possible experience and education. The athletics program is on the rise and on the verge of gaining national prominence. The academic programs are showing promise as more WVU graduates are gaining recognition for their accomplishments. WVU is a student-oriented university, and should be considered by incoming freshmen who want to be treated to a great college education and experience.
