Tuition & Financial Aid: Classes are to expensive and so are textbooks.

There is no need for them to be so expensive. I struggle to afforded community college. They need to make it less expensive so people can keep going to school.

Campus Resources: I enjoy the campus resources that west valley has to offer. People are willing to help you out in the library if

you need a book. If you need help with anything. General campus is good and so is the student center. People are there if you need something or if you need to find a certain building.

Online Courses: I haven't taken online classes at west valley but my friend has. She has told me some pros and cons about taking online classes. I have taken them before in high school.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: You come across all different types of people some were really

Friendly and other not much. I love how my school has diversity on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I did have a good first year experience when it came to the classes I signed up for. I enjoyed all my classes like my reading class was filled with fun. I couldn't stop reading the books she recommended. I never enjoyed reading much. Also my math teacher was excellent at explaining the material. I'm not a fan of math but I enjoyed going to class and learning. I do wish it was easier to get the classes you wanted because when it came time to register most classes were full.

Overall Experience: It's unique because there are teachers who are willing to help you when needed. It's also unique because of the environment and the community is great. I would choose this school again but they need to improve something to help make it a better school.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The academic flexibility was pretty solid. I didn't have any problems that I can remember.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Being a business major was a pretty good experience for me. The teachers at West Valley were great and helped me learn real-life applications for what we were learning. The only thing that could have used improvement were the facilities, since the business building seems pretty aged.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Overall, the academics at West Valley were great. I enjoyed most of all the ability to choose and connect with specific teachers who taught their subjects well. Registration was pretty smooth as well; I did not have any problems, so I think that's a success!

Online Courses: Online courses are very convenient and cheap, but It can be tough to succeed when you are in front of a screen instead of a teacher who knows how to answer your questions.

Student Body: West Valley's student body is very diverse, being a college in the bay area, there are many different types of people that attend West Valley. There is every type of person at West Valley.

Tuition & Financial Aid: West Valley's tuition has never been a problem for me, being a middle college student, but the one thing I was required to pay for each semester was textbooks for my classes. West Valley gave many opportunities to lower or null the cost of textbooks for doing things like bringing in canned food or filling out applications for less fortunate people.

Online Courses: There are many benefits and drawbacks to online classes. In online classes, you can sit at home, or in any environment you chose and complete the work given to you, while the traditional class experience requires you to travel to a set location and concentrate with many other people in the classroom. Traditional classes give you a greater opportunity to talk to professors and create study groups with other students while online classes skip most of that. In my experience, traditional classes have been better for me for these reasons. I enjoy being in a class with other students on the same path as me. Having a professor to talk to about his or her course is usually more fulfilling than maybe looking something up on google.

Overall Experience: My school is great because it has a beautiful campus. The staff are friendly. There are many options for classes. They have equivalent courses for many universities. They offer programs to ease transferring such as TAG and honors program.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Thanks to the PelGrant, Financial Aid, EOPS and West Valley; they provide excellent service. I did not have to pay anything since I started college. They provide me anything I need. Definitely keep your grades up if you want to get free money from FAFSA!

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The internet is a little too slow and there is printers at the library only. Since the library is very old, it is sometimes difficult to use the printers. The computers are also too old. We definitely need newer and faster technologies in the library.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Everything is good except the campus center. I love the campus center but there are always some events that are not for the students, they are private events and we cannot use the campus center freely.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I like my online classes because the instructors provide us a first week with light work and guide us to get to know each other with other classmates. It makes the online courses more fun and interesting because I feel more connected to my peers. The workload is a little too much because sometimes the instructors forget that we have other classes and obligations besides their class. Therefore it gets too hectic at times.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Unfortunately, my school does not offer any programs related to nutrition or dietetics. Therefore I have no internship/job opportunities.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: West Valley has work and study option, early-registrations, EOPS, and helpful Tutorial services which all make it easier for students to be successful.

3 College Senior

Career Services: I go to a community college, but I am transferring this semester to a 4-year-university, therefore I do not think I had to deal with any of these at West Valley College.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The staff at my school is very friendly and helpful. I do not remember anytime where I have been furious with anybody at my school. I had to deal with very picky instructors for couple times but I am sure there are instructors like that everywhere I transfer. Some of the instructors were very nice and friendly and understanding. But some of them were just too strict.

3 College Senior

Student Body: Most students at my college seems like they do not know what they want in life or to study. Some of them are going back to college to get their grad degrees or changing careers. However since from the beginning, I knew what I wanted to study, I have been taking classes that were required for my major. My school is very diverse. There are students from everywhere but it is mostly white people.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: West Valley was never my first choice and still is not. However, I have had a few decent classes and some professors that were definitely worth the money.

1 College Senior

Campus Resources: The school does not provide enough internet connection for students to even log on to the WIFI while they are in class. If I have an off period, I typically am in the library (a supposed WIFI hot spot) and it is impossible to get any homework done because I cannot connect to the internet.
