Off-Campus Dining: Lots of student-friendly stores and a mix of chains and local restaurants.

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is literally no fast food besides the food at the convenience store and Dunkin Donuts. All the restaurants nearby are very nice but way too expensive. And there is no food open late, which is terrible.

Off-Campus Dining: It's just expensive. Night options are few (Chinese, Thai, and Dominos Pizza) and Dominos is the only late night option. I don't like Lemon Thai, by far the most popular place for Wellesley students to order from, but it's the only other spot that delivers to the dorms. And it's cheap. If you have a lot of money to spend on food, the town of Wellesley isn't so bad. But there's just a few restaurants (lots of ice cream, though) and most don't cater to student budgets. Good places for graduation dinners, though.

Off-Campus Dining: Living near Boston allows for a large variety of cuisines.

Off-Campus Dining: We have several good places that deliver int he area for a decent price, but outside of that, not many options. There are really nice restaurants around, but that's money.

Boston is a foodie's paradise, and the town of Wellesley isn't too shabby either. One advantage to being in the upscale 'burbs is access to well-known restaurants. Also nearby, in the shopping center wastelands of Framingham and Natick, are chain restaurants, such as TGI Friday's and Chili's. The Ville has Thai, Italian, Asian fusion, and gourmet "truck stop" food down. Delivery isn't plentiful, and restaurants that cater to late-night munchies are few and far between, but there's no lack of places to take your parents.

Between Boston, Cambridge, and (with a little bit of driving) even the fishing communities of the Massachusetts coast, you can satisfy cravings for every imaginable food. So, if you've got the dough, you can sample everything from haute cuisine to fantastic greasy pizza.

  • Wellesley students are lucky to live near hundreds of great restaurants. The North End is Boston's Little Italy, and Chinatown has several blocks packed with restaurants.
  • Ken's Steak House, the home of Ken's Steak House dressing, is just down the road from Wellesley. The restaurant has been around since 1941.
  • Apparently only about 35 of Boston's 840 restaurants serve fast food.
