The dining halls are pretty darn good. Everyone has their complaints, but it's possible to eat well at Wellesley—and compared to many colleges, to eat very well. Students really like the dining hall workers, and certain workers, such as Pasta Bob in Tower, have gained semi-celebrity status. The on-campus bakery makes tasty Rice Krispie treats and fresh bread.
Though the meal plan is very open in some ways—students can eat as much as they like at any time during the day, and most dining halls don't keep track of guest meals—there are no options other than the dining halls. But with the food selection at Wang, there are more satisfied students who have more flexibility to the meal plan, and there are more options for students dissatisfied by the dining halls. However, unless it's for medical reasons, no one is allowed to opt out of the meal plan or lessen the number of meals they pay for per week.
