College Junior

Career Services: This is my first semester and haven't made use of those resource tools as of yet.

Campus Resources: I haven't made use of all the resources they offer but the ones I have made use of have been/are great!

Academic Experience: I'm a returning student trying to switch careers to make a 'better life'. This is my first semester back and I can only say it all seems great so far. I'm doing what I have to do and I enjoy it. They have a good IT program and I'm excited.

Academic Experience: They seem to have a good variety, esp. considering population of our city. The process has proved to be a lot easier than I thought...everyone is helpful and patient. The professors I have hud thus far seem to be firm, very knowledgable, and supportive. I look forward to completing my degree there!

Tuition & Financial Aid: The process for this semsester was actually great! however, they sent letters out in regard to them 'doing away with' the student federal loan program and it has me a little disheartened. I want to better my life and the lives of my kids and grandkids and it is hard being single.

Student Body: As I stated earlier, this is my first semester attending WCC so I can't truly say. The only interaction I have is through discussion boards....and was minimal during the enrollment process...but from what I saw I was one of the 'oldest' students around. : ) It all seemed 'normal'

Facilities: This is my first semester so I can't truly discuss the facilities, esp. considering I take online courses; however, the convenience matters a lot to me. Also, I heard they had a good CIT program. It is a pretty campus and is small enough to get around easily (I like that).

Academic Flexibility: Being a returning student after all these years made me wary of potential hassles and frustrations but they have been VERY minimal...the process from applying to WCC to actually taking classes has been a pleasant experience overall.

Online Courses: Workload seems to be more than a traditional class but I thoroughly enjoy them. I work full-time so being able to log on at 9 p.m. and complete assignments is a big advantage for me. I enjoy the discussion boards and we seem to communicate more that way than we probably would have in a traditional class setting. I love online courses. Only drawback may be the professor/studen relationship; however, I try to make an effort to email, etc. and that helps to build a positive relationship.

Overall Experience: They have been doing a lot of rennovations/upkeep....it is a beautiful campus. Staff members are very helpful and always polite. I work full-time and it is very convenient for me to attend a community college. I have only had positive experiences with my instructors thus far. Overall, it has been a great experience and I would do it all again. The only complaint I have is that they have stopped offering the Federal Loan Program (Stafford) and I depended on that, being a single working mother and grandmother.
