Student Body: You can tell when you meet someone who is highly motivated and career oriented, then there are other times where you see students that obviously don't care about where they end u after graduation if they even continue to attend Waubonsee. I will say that Waubonsee could be a bit more diverse, but it's already got a good amount of representation between certain ethnicities. Everyone is pretty much accepted here there isn't any discriminating cliques.

Academic Flexibility: For the past two years I have had no trouble with my personal schedule inter fearing with my school work because Waubonsee creates as many options as possible when choosing a course. You have every chance in the world of setting up you perfect schedule the way you like it. Plus, the homework level is not terribly hard, so if you have a hard work ethic then it should a cake walk. A few frustrations come with the Blackboard system sometimes and the processes in the website can drive you mad sometimes, but it's not too much trouble.

Online Courses: I have never really taken an online class because I'm a hands-on learner, but from the chatter around campus I hear that it's pretty much a hit or miss with the professors', so it's not much of a choice. Most students I know like the fact that sometimes your professor allows you to skip ahead through the course material that way you can move along towards your goal. Its very convenient and the workload is doable, so there are only so many complaints.

Career Services: The career center I believe does a good job with assisting students of all levels with finding the right career paths. I personally have never been to the career center myself, but I have heard very promising things about it. to tell you the truth I don't even know any alumni of Waubonsee because they don't do an amazing job of advertising them. I couldn't tell you the first thing about Waubonsee's history! Job prospects out here are pretty simple because most of the classes here are tapered to agriculture, business, communications, etc. Which is fairly easy to find work in especially in a small rural area such as Yorkville and Sugar Grove. The surrounding areas such as Naperville give student and advantage as well.

Overall Experience: For me I just needed a school that cared about it students and had a decent size for me to work with. I feel that it fulfills my needs as a transfer student. I have access to an always open computer lab and my professors are consistently available to contact for help. its located in a good place close to lunch spots and has a big enough size to get that college feel that a university has. If I had to repeat this time in my life I would definitely choose Waubonsee because it offers me the opportunities that i need to succeed in my journey to my 4-year institution.

Academic Flexibility: I had some issues with the administrators at one point in time but other than that it has been adequate.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The Waubonsee campus resources have definitely helped me whenever I have needed help with work, whether it was the library or the writing center for papers, they have always been a great resource.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I have never had an issue with the technology on campus, besides a few initial mishaps with the wi-fi but other than that it's been great.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I have used the counseling services to help with career choices and they have been relatively helpful

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I was majoring in psych throughout my experience as Waubonsee and there were many different psych classes to choose from when registering for classes.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I have had great academic success at waubonsee and I can relate that to the quality of teachers I have had there which had been great

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is very limited student interaction depending on what classes you are in.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition was reasonable compared to universities but the book prices were outrageous.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Ive only taken two online classes and one of them I had no problems with and the other was a little tougher to get ahold of the teacher on.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Waubonsee caters to all students of any skill level and life goals which is unique compared with universities

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: overall this college is really great. it truly is what you make it. i love hanging out with professors and going to school activities but i could see it as a miserable place if one hates school or doesn't want to be there.

3 College Senior

Student Body: its a community college. so the people i hang out with are very career orientated and intelligent but there is a large portion of the student population who has no clue what they are doing there, they don't care and they have a lack of motivation.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: the classes are much cheaper than a university and the only financial downfall is the book store that place robs you for books and buys them back for pennies on the dollar.

College Senior

Career Services: this is a community college. it only has certificates, transfer degrees, and associate degrees.

4 College Senior

Facilities: the campus is beautiful and there are places everywhere to nap or study. i love the little nooks all over campus. all of the buildings are new. the library and science labs are gorgeous.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: the main campus is completely stocked. it really is a great place to be. it has a prairie surrounding it, the library is amazing, cafeteria is okay not horrible but not great. the facility is really top notch. they are currently building a new athletic center but that was the most outdated building on campus.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: the connection is okay but to get to it you have to download a program onto your phone or computer and this program consistently needs updates and is unreliable. if you use one of the hundreds of computers on campus than you will have no problem its just connecting to the wifi that's a problem.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: with this school it really depends on the professor. most dean's will work with you but the teachers either are willing to work with you or they just don't care at all. quite a few professors feel that you are in college so figure it out and its not their problem.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: being a science major at a community college is okay, this school has a large science wing so i am very fortunate for that but the science classes are either a complete joke or insanely hard. i think if the school had more consistency than the program would be much better.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: for a community college waubonsee offers a lot of programs and it is constantly expanding on it's available programs. i think overall it is a really nice school to be at academically. the main downside to the college is the amount of adjunct employees that there are. these employees don't really care about the classes and they are not paid enough to care so a good portion of classes are a joke or are just insane because the teacher doesn't teach but expects the students to know and understand.
