3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I have always lived off campus so I don't really know how to compare to on campus

3 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: There are plenty of parks to play at but not enough family things to do or see.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: I kept to myself and didn't talk to many people, but my eyes do work

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: the dining hall has some fruit out but a lot of fried food to choose from.

3 College Senior

Diversity: I have kept to myself and just study and work to take care of my family

3 College Senior

Majors: I enjoyed my classes for my degree, my advisor was great as well.

3 College Senior

Majors: I did not get an internship although I would like to have had one to get my foot in the door somewhere.

Off-Campus Dining: fast food chains are the norm around the college

3 College Senior

Scholarships: They are only open for a few hours a day and there is usually a very long line to get help.

3 College Senior

Facilities: The school must take pride in the students as they really try to take care of them

Nightlife: I am an online student and when I did attend on campus, I kept to myself

Off-Campus Dining: I hardly go off campus to eat and when I do it is to one or two different places. The cost is good when going as a group.

Diversity: Diversity on campus is in everything - religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, economic background and politics. There are many churches on campus. Every street has another denomination. People are relatively open about their sexual preference and there are clubs that rally to accept everyone equally. "Whatever you can do, I can do too" is essentially the motto when it comes to ethnic/racial diversity. It is one big community and no one is put down. Politics is not even an area for conflict because it not put out there just like that.

Guys & Girls: There are a lot more married people than one would expect. Since some upper division classes are mixed with people of different ages, a class may include two or more different marital statuses. The typical student dresses normally according to the weather. Social life for a typical student is average. Even though people might be conversing regularly, not everyone is actually in a relationship. Sexual orientation can be identified because not much is hidden.

Campus Strictness: Sexual assault is not a huge issue on campus and policies are there to keep it to a minimum if not any at all. Resident Advisors are always roaming the halls to make sure no one is up to any illegal or harmful activity. The first violation of medium activity is a warning and the second is a write-up which stays on your record. Illegal activity is documented and police are called on the first offense/attempt.

Overall Experience: Lecture halls are massive but the professors take time out to answer your questions only if you have done your part. Checking the syllabus will save time. Not all classes are taught in auditoriums so class size differs. The courses are geared to inform as priority and entertain second.

Overall Experience: Being in the PAC-12, Washington State is respected among the Pacific Northwest and works hard to get students into the post-baccalaureate institutions they desire. Many professionals even come to take a class or two to continue learning. The alumni network is strong and goal-oriented, working to make sure you get the job you want on or off campus.

Academics: All you need to succeed is provided. All you have to do is take advantage of them. There are tutors in the dorm lounges and libraries. The professor is more than willing to assist you once you have done your part. Registering for a class is simple only if you speak with your academic advisor (who is responsible for keeping you on track for your specific major).

5 College Freshman

Academics: This institution is big on science and research so being a biology major, it is easy to get the material needed for the degree.

Greek Life: Going Greek is a big step and a celebration when done because it is usually a family tradition. It affects social life dramatically because a majority of nightlife is entertained by house parties. Greek housing is different for each organization; but generally speaking you must be in a dorm as a Freshman, Greek or not. No one is viewed differently as far as I know, seeing that I do not observe these things so intently.

College Freshman

Majors: I have never had an internship but I do plan on applying for one because I can never have too much experience in medicine since that is the field I am planning on working in. I hope I can find one that works with my schedule during school and pays enough.

4 College Freshman

Majors: There are a lot of documents needed for admission especially if you are out-of-state. Financial aid covered a small amount of tuition so I urge you to get many scholarship offers. GPA must be high and based off of core classes. The more rigorous the classes, the better the impression. You must pass those classes or else they technically do not count as outstanding work. Be sure you know the classes necessary for your major plus the university requirements and the milestones mapped out to assist in completion.

Local Atmosphere: The town is one big Cougar neighborhood. I have heard that the majority of townspeople either go to WSU or work for it. Most of the popular outlet stores are in the neighboring state (we are close to the border) but there is still a good amount of services in our town. The Lentil Festival is a huge event that occurs in the city park and has an awesome turnout. Downtown is a historical place great for strolls after sunset.

Athletics: For every game, whether at home or away, the football team is always supported. People will leave school early to drive to the location for a weekend game. Track and rowing are follow-ups in popularity (although I haven't heard of a track meet this year).

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I would never walk too far at night alone so I go with at lease one friend. Campus safety is always on go. Cameras are everywhere to monitor criminal activity and police are nearby to assist in traffic. At irregular intervals, there are fire drills and night watch. To prevent a student from being in danger at night, resident advisors on duty will make rounds to check each room for students under the influence who may cause harm to themselves or others.
