Washington & Lee has a wealth of technology opportunities on campus. With a plethora of computer labs, a well stocked library with every imaginable gadget, and a technology help desk that offers free, knowledgeable troubleshooting, the school gives students a solid foundation on which to build their academic careers. That said, printers can often be temperamental and both grounded and wireless Internet connections have been known to drop in and out of service. For a school nestled in mountains, however, such hiccups are to be expected.
Most students do bring their own laptops, but personal computers are not a necessity for academic success. The University provides enough access to its computers and online databases that wise use of the library or other computer centers can make up for a lack of a laptop. Additionally, the library checks out University-owned laptops, headphones, tape recorders, flash drives, and video cameras, so students certainly do not need a wide array of personal gadgets to do well at Washington & Lee. Overall, technology opportunities at the school are plentiful and reliable.
