Campus Resources: Class Cafe – My school is online but it keeps one close to all the other students. there is a section called class cafe where all the students can get together and just talk about whatever

Academic Flexibility: Course Work – When I signed up for walden I was told classes were one at a time and they are not. I have to study for atleast three hrs a day for each class and this can be alot for two classes. Also, assignments are due every other day for each class

Overall Experience: Somewhat Happy – I just started at walden, but when I talked to the enrollment adviser she told me my degree program was for something alittle different than what it actually is. since I had already completed two classes I didnt switch to one closer to what I originally intended for this one to be. She also told me that classes would be one at a time and they were two at a time. I didnt have books for the first week of school cause she said they would come in the mail but they actually needed to be ordered by me first. Everything she told me was wrong.

Academic Flexibility: Generally Satisfied – I am happy with the flexibility. I work two jobs and am a single mother, yet I still manage to attend school almost full-time. I am very happy with the online format overall.

Overall Experience: Expensive and Undue Attention to Discussions – Walden is very expensive and also places too much emphasis on discussions. Often I feel that I am spending more time working on discussion posts than I am on actually learning the material. I imagine that many online schools are similar in their approach and price point, but I have not researched it.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid department is helpful once you are qualified, but initiating the financial aid process is difficult and you are basically left on your own. The financial aid office is not helpful with providing scholarship and grant information.

Career Services: Career Service – I have used the career service and they gave me some very good points and then there were some seminars that they sugggested that I took online.

Online Courses: My Opinion – I was excited about taking an online course. I found it to be the best thing I could have ever done. The workload was very easy to do. Working at my own pace was great. I like the idea of e-mailing my professir and hearing by from them in less than 24 hours.

Academic Experience: I Enjoyed My Classes – My major is psychology, I enjoy studying behavior. Each class was different and they all pretain to my field of study; I did not study anything that was unneccessary, I was pleased about that. The workload was just right, not overwhelming.

Campus Resources: Helpful When Needed – The library is what I mostly utilized; the librarian was excellent, extremely knowledgible.

Student Body: I Worked Online – I basically work from my computer; everyone is the same as far as online classes are concern, it is great.

Student Body: Working at Home – Mostly, my school consists of working class people with full time jobs or families to support. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students and parents. While they are happy to socialize and make friends, this is not their priority. Their priority is to teach online to be able to spend more time with their families, and start Online Business at home.

Career Services: Branding and Online Media for Consumer – After I graduate, I will have trouble findng employment in South Carolina due to my field of studies. So, naturally, I will be looking for International employment instead. I would like to broaden my horizontal to teach abroad.

Overall Experience: I am proud to attend Walden! What makes it so different is that I have flexibility; unlike the school that I transferred to Walden from, I am pleased with Walden, I plan on obtaining my Master's at Walden University.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I Made It!!! Walden believed in me, I delivered! I made the grade because Walden gave me a chance to further my education. I appreciate that. The one thing that I would suggest is, that financial aid tell their new students the possiblity of running out of financial assistance. I have six more classes to go; I will not give up, with, or without financial aid I will find the money.
Thank you,

Mary

Tuition & Financial Aid: A Little Pricey – The tuition is a bit high and the residency is very expensive. I think Walden could've lowered the price and make it more comfortable for the students who are not working.

Tuition & Financial Aid: In Line With Most – I believe that the schools tuition rates are mostly in line with most other online Universities. The financial aid process is easy to complete and has a quick turn around.

Academic Experience: Professor Envolvment – Each and everyone of my professors are very involved in my classes. We had a group assignment in one class and one of the students simply did not participate which was causing the group effort to suffer. We got in touch with the professor who was monitoring the situation the whole time and informed him of what was going on. He then in turn, saw that this student's grade for the lack of group activity was reflected in their final grade. This activity was major part of our grade. None of the rest of us suffered because of one student's lack of participation.

Student Body: Class Mates – Most of my class mates work in the professional world so they are professional in class. This makes class very interesting. We learn a lot from others such as their field of work. The classroom discussions get quite lively at times which also makes for a great learning experience. There are quite a few questions that are asked by everyone so it is not just a question and answer assignment that is turned in by everyone. It is a discussion post/classroom.

Campus Resources: The resources at Walden are wonderful. The students are always notified if and when the site is going to be down for maintenance. This usually takes place in the wee hours of the morning. When there is severe weather in the area of one of the campus locations, a message is sent out to all students and faculty. I have never had to use the student/tech support but some of my classmates have and they have the best to say. The tech support people were right on the issue and resolved the issue very quickly.

Academic Flexibility: A Lot Transferred – After having served in the U.S. Navy for a period of 18 years, I had a lot of military work/life skill credits transfer to Walden. I also had credits transfer from a technical institute transfer in my chosen field of study which makes it a little easier to finish school. The flexibility of my classes is another plus. Taking classes online allows me to still work as well as attend class. I am able to attend class on my schedule, not someone elses. My academic advisor is always just a phone call away should I need them. They are always ready and willing to assist me with my class registration/choices. I get advice from them that best suits my field of study. The folks at Walden are simply put there for the students. It's a great place to study.

Campus Resources: Online Review – The online facilities are very easy to navigate making getting around campus very easy--user friendly. Everything is laid out with simple to follow instructions. Student support/tech support is always available if there are ever any problems. I have been attending Walden University online for about two years and couldn't be happier with the campus, the academic team, financial aid advisors and my instructors. All are very eager to assist the students with any questions, any time. Students have accessibility to the staff that they need to be in contact with all the time. It's a great university if one needs to continue to work and desires to start or finish their education online. Best decision that I have made!
