Academic Experience: As a public health major, the availability of different concentrations was a big draw for me. The professors are also great in this major. They are all very involved in public health programs and/or giving back to the community outside of academia. It is encouraging to see their success in the field and experience an array of possible careers via interactions with professors.

Academic Experience: I completed almost all of my GE's at UCLA. I expected the "upper division" classes in the public health major to be more challenging. While I can choose to push myself above and beyond the basic class requirements to learn more from each class, I am not as stimulated by class interactions/discussions as I hoped to be.

My curriculum does cover all aspects of public health and my concentration that are necessary to prepare me for graduate school.

Career Services: I am still an undergrad but it is already clear that the alumni network is strong. My negative is that Walden U is an online school, and almost all faculty have online graduate degrees. While this is irrelevant to their teaching abilities, it does limit they help they can give toward getting into a normal campus-based graduate school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I suppose the fees are average of what it costs for an education. The financial Aid department has worked with me well and reminded and updated me as to all the forms and procedures I needed.

Academic Experience: Studying here at Walden University has been a great experience. There is great information that will pertain to what I want to continue in my career. Online school has been most beneficial for me because I can study at my pace and at the hours that I need. I have a family and a job to attend to. I think it is a great experience.

Student Body: Students that I meet on line seem to have great goals and integrity. Everyone is heard.

Campus Resources: Everything is at my fingertips. Administrations and professors communicate and respond in timely manner..

Campus Resources: I attend online school and love it for the flexibility, integrity and convince so that I can get my education.

Academic Flexibility: I feel they are very flexible. You are able to complete the classwork on your own availability, but is still very demanding.

Academic Experience: I am a part of an on-line school, so my interaction with everyone is by phone, e-mail, or discussion forum. The Psychology team (students and staff) seem to be very dedicated to each other. It does not feel as if you are on your own when you are trying to complete school. Walden University realizes the diverse life challenges that many of their students face. I am a mother with bills to pay and sometimes run into challenges with time and energy. Logging on to Walden and talking to my classmates and staff gives me that extra push to move forward and know that I am doing this to better the future for myself and my children.

Student Body: Keep in mind I attend an on-line school. Therefore, this is one that is rather hard to answer. Unless the student discusses it in chat or the discussion questions, it is hard to see/know the differences. I do, though, enjoy when others do share their experiences in life, what got them to come back to school, and the direction in which they are going. With that, I think that it helps other students by knowing someone else may not have the same issues going on, but they have a team of students that want them to succeed. This is the most supportive institution I have ever seen. There are many times that I have consulted other students about not understanding something, and they have pulled together (putting aside their personal schedules) to help out. The professors have also impressed me in that manner. There has never been a time in which the professors have let me down by not helping me understand the material to the best of my abilities.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although the tuition is higher than the previous school I attended, I do understand that this is an on-line school. The more that I am paying is offset by the fact that the staff make themselves readily available for my needs. The professors showcase the fact that they truly care about the understanding that the students have about the material they are presenting. I would rather pay more for a school that cares than less for one who doesn't.

Career Services: I am not too sure about this. I do know, though, that Walden University is a very goal-oriented school. I have called several times for questions and receive an answer that explains everything that I need to know. They also provide follow-up questions to ensure that I understand and help with guiding me any further.

Campus Resources: This is a great school for the working professional!

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: Most of the students are hardworking adults, and they are very polite and receptive to comments.

Campus Resources: The library uses a feature that allows you to search for class readings by class. This saves so much time, rather than searching for readings individually.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: So far I haven't learned anything new, and I expected the teachers to be more involved, but I suppose I am simple unused to an online learning environment.

Campus Resources: As an online community, the resources are primarily online, but everything is easy to find and the staff are very friendly and accessible. The university wants the students to succeed, so they have provided several learning resources and opportunities.

Academic Experience: sometimes other students didn't respond in the correct time frame of assignments

Online Courses: it went very smooth. i applied before looking at schools

Tuition & Financial Aid: i think the tuition is right for what i learned already.
my enrollment advisor was great

Campus Resources: The online resources are good. The library tends to be cumbersome, but I found if I do a Google Scholar search and get the DOI, I am able to pull up my literature or articles with little problems.

Academic Experience: I appreciate the manner by which all the curriculum has been specific to my degree plan.

Of course the items that are not specific to the degree, things like ethics or different sciences, are more difficult, but fulfilling when the classes have been accomplished.

I find the workload to be manageable.

Academic Experience: Although I am concentrating on a PhD degree for counseling psychology, Walden University offers a great selection of different degree plans that are appropriate for students who are seeking education in a different field.
I chose Walden because they do have full online programs and were able to provide me with the ability to gain both my graduate and my doctorate degrees within the same university. It made my enrollment process smooth and easy.
The academic and enrollment advisers are the best I've encountered during my academic career. I could not ask for more.
The only thing that I do not see that would be of value is an online tutoring assistance group to chat with students who are struggling in statistics courses.

3 Recent Alumnus

Student Body: There are a lot of nice people who do not have the higher academic skills of APA format and appropriate communication and grammar skills.

I am disappointed that doctoral students are not better prepared to write in a higher scholarly voice.

Student diversity is likely but unknown as the students are all invisible in an online environment.

The politics of some students seems to get in the way of their opening their minds to alternative ideas. There seems to be the same political behaviors in college that there are in general society.
